| It's also to be remembered that whilst GM may well have given away a lot of penalties and at times seemed ineffectual (sp)he was playing in a team that was shipping 40 points per game!

You could argue any player could look better in a better team.
Yes, and was just as responsible as the rest on the field for the results.
He has missed tackles, give penalties away and had average games like the rest.
We all like morro! That's not in question. There are just split opinions.
1. Morro has carried the team, can still produce the goods next year.
2. Morro has had a year mixed with good performances, average and injury. Would take a quota and be one of higher earners, where this money would be better spent elsewhere on the squad.

| I have a genuine question about the Morrison situation.
If he signed a new one year contract but it stated in the contract he was responsible (not helping out) for some coaching duties, say he was offered a one year player assistant coach role would his full salary impact the salary cap?

| And i'm pretty sure he stated in an article recently that he has come off quota now as well.

| its funny people on here think Dowes is a good signing and Morro is over hill pointless to keep. You really can't make it up people defending Morro its pointless. The fickle police have made their minds up. If you are a 2nd rower in a top team you dont make as many tackles as morro would they have played 21 games this season in a team like ours?? I think for is age in a team like ours he is far from past it !It was a cracked bone in the hand when he was out for 6-8 games its not like his ligaments and knees have gone.

First Ali (impact), now Dowes (a prop) you compare Morro to... Different roles and in Dowes case different position. You really are on the Morro love bus aren't you .
I would try and reason that the positions which Glenn plays are covered well and with depth but you prob will ignore and post another comparing Morro to Dale Morton ...

I don't recall anyone saying that; the facts are that GM has been a great captain for us but his contract has expired - if he isn't re-signed, it's because he doesn't fit into our plans going forward. It's not a great conspiracy, or a slight to his honour, it's just business.

It is just that a business, the club will after keep moving forward, and keep it's customer happy (The Fans), at the end of the day the club will do what it as too to make the club stronger...

| Let's just clear a few points up hey.
1)Morro is not on the quota, he's been taken off it
2)He had a couple of average performances by his standard just before he was out injured, what people don't know is he played 2 games with broken ribs and a broken hand, nobody knew about the ribs because they didn't want to give the clubs we were playing somewhere to hit. (played injured because he didn't want to let his mates down)
3)I know he would take a pay cut to stay at wakey
4)Look at his injuries, they are all freak things, not like he has a bad knee or leg problem.
My question is : knowing the above and the quality he brings would you offer him a year deal.

| Morro staying depends on who we sign next week i think. With Southern, Ali, Frankie, Washbrook and PJ on board and Kirmond and Raleigh rumoured/likely there may not be room in the back row for Glenn.

Yes i think that if we can afford/fit him in he should stay, he adds a quallity to the squad both on and off the field and is the right type of bloke to have around young players.
Solomona played busted and went beyond a wage slip to save us but quite a few still think he just jumped ship and walked away, thats the side of players thats often overlooked from the terrace.
I know Morro as played many games when he should not have through injury, but he did.

| I can see kirmond moving into with our lack of which could open a spot a SR. However, with Lauititi, Southern, Big Frankie and PJ with Trout and Spiers coming through I don't see where Morro will fit. Plus we need to reinforce our three-quarters, halfs and props.

I'd have given him a deal but i've got a feeling that horse has already bolted. Would have given him a player/coaching role a la Deacon at Wigan.

I definetly would. He still oozes quality, enthusiasm and leadership. He is head and shoulders above the likes of Raleigh or Kirmond and a great role model and mentor for such as Johnson and Mariano. According to the Express RA is to talk to him on his return so there may yet be a deal.

| Quote ="vastman"Oh come on, you have a cosy drink with him and you take his word verbatim. I can think of few players more adept at getting good deals for limited talent and questionable loyalty than Korkidas. This player has done exceptionally well out of Trinity and SL. If he's been treated like meat and he clearly has not it's Kobi beef. Please spare us the sob story, there are players in RL like there are people in all walks of life who get shafted, this individual IMO is more a shafter.'" i don't usually comment on korki stuff but because you are so far off the mark i thought i would tell you a few honest facts.
1) korki was approachd by snowie at a junior rl game. he enquired what korki would be doing next year, another guy asked if he was going to london. korki just replied no. the facts are that london approached korki the day after sam obst was sent to hull by the administrator,. they wanted him to go the next day. korki told hem he wasn;t interested , he wasn't jumping ship. thats a fact. i actually told him he should have gone. they approached him again but he didn;t take up the offer
2) your comment that korki has done very well out of wakefeld, not quite right either. first year korki came to wakey he was on very low money, 2nd and the 3rd average. when he came back via hudds, because of the way contracts had been done between cas and hudds and then wakefield and hudds, wakefield finished up with a very good deal, costing wakey less than most in the first team squad. plus his lack of injuries, a handful over the years, means we haven;t been paying for him sat in a treatment room
3) don't see how you can doubt the lads loyalty. he has played over 170 games for wakefield. i can testify to the fact that he has played through injury , taken injections when injured sometimes as many as 3 per game before the game. his knee , his back, ribs etc.
you would be right to say "yes" but that is the sport he is in but nobody forced him to do this he did it to get on the field and play.
you can question his ability, that is your opinion but his loyalty , i know for a fact where that lies and always has done. even when he wasn't playing for the club he probably attended more matches home and away than many of our supporters.as far as him shafting people is concerned ,he could have had more money and more bonuses going elsewhere. the measure of the lad can be taken by his populaity with the rest of his team mates at wakefield and the fans . at the last home game i watched on the pitch as he was mobbed by the fans queing up for pictures , autographs etc whist jk . morro and some of the others had 2 or 3 maybe half a dozen round them. he was the last player to leave the field. so when you refer to him as a shafter, you have got that one wrong. at the moment korki has a few options. imo he is one of the longest serving foriegn players in sl along with bj. over the years i think we have had good service from korki and he doesn't deserve the comments you are making. i am sure whatever happens to korki, we will still be seeing a lot of him at wakey but one thing is for sure he won't be coming from batley.

Cant argue with any of what youve said Mr Brown, however that doesnt earn him a contract either.
For me its time to let him move on with our best wishes, as long as we have some suitable grunt to replace him with.
We all know his abilities, and we all know replacing his "skills" wont be difficult, but i agree he is as loyal a lad as you see these days and he adds some beef and grunt to what could be not the biggest pack in SL and those two parts to his game could be harder to replace.
Good luck korki, whatever.

| Well said Mr. Brown
I don't think there is a reason to defend him to be honest. He has been outstanding by most people's standards on and off the field. He isn't a game breaker, but the game breakers can't do it without him.
What he does he does very well. I like what he does, and I'm glad we signed him when we did and easily got our money's worth from him. I hope he feels valued by the supporters as I certainly think he is very valued by most.
Good luck in his next endevours. I'd have kept him but happy that Kear values him too and is giving him a chance at probably lengthening his career by stepping down.
