I've just asked him the exact same question on another thread! I think he's a bit of a wind up merchant.

a kid who was advised to sign with under 13 even though under 12...he played football previously but due to the under 13's desperate to increase to 2 teams..was talking to his mum today who wasn't happy but she is now playing at his own age..remember stanley are a club and not just an age group!

depends on the child if he can cope with playing a year above his age, we have had one player last year who has now dropped back due to his size but last season played very well, in fact was one of our pivotal players

this season we have two lads that has done the same and drop to our age level and it shows how well they have done

nowt to do with that mate..he hasn't played rl before..under 13's are desperate to increase to 2 teams and this kid was told to go to 13's..his mum is now very pleased where he is..and so are we!! personal ego somewhere???

My son plays for a new team at Stanley U13's - they have some places left - I mentioned it here in case anyone had a son who might fancy a go; a perfectly innocent comment.

I'm neither involved nor interested in the politics and inter-club bickering that goes in in junior rugby, ta very much.

Seem to remember us doing ok against stanley last year & we were all set to play the semi final last week 'till Stanley pulled out the day before - we could of claimed the game by the way but didn't , so there you go .

neither am i...my mates son has moved to stanley 13's this season and i also know another couple who are considering moving from where they are now..no bickering bren2k just the fact that when a kid approaches he is advised to move to over age when the 12's need players ..

yes I know about the second team and who is coaching.
if the lad has never played before then that's understandable he could do with a year at his own age level but like my lad his birth date puts him in the under 14s but you would think he is an under 15s size wise.
doubt its all to do with personnel egos rather than getting a second team up and running which has got to be a good thing for the club in general

not many clubs can boast two years having two teams in that year, its all good for the Wakey /cas / Leeds pro teams to have more selection

When you said BOTH teams I thought you were on about us against Cas Panthers today .
Hope that Stanley 12's are gonna be ok - we got dropped to div 2 a couple of years back without reason & ended up hammering everyone and losing 6 months of improvement playing wise .
If you want to find me in December you won't miss me , I'll be stood at the side of the pitch wearing a ridiculously oversized orange bib ! ( & we can have a drink after if you fancy it ?)

you must be talking about a different crigg as crigg did not go , as far as i know due to stanley having poor number cas had to split its team into two and at a guess i would think a coach like the one i saw speak yesterday would not of had a team of superstars and a team of lambs to the slaughter. you seem quite bitter at your division 2 status maybe less cancellations and more action on the park will see you back in the top flight.

p.s. could the mods sort this burke out, wheres mutts when you need him?

but you have dispension until end of september so you can use cards of under 11s

Massive win for Stanley rangers u14s against parkside 16- nil

I didn't expect an easy game and it lived to its expectations, on arrival we found that Parkside had decided to play us on the small pitch to our amusement.
it was clear that they had every intention of trying to power them selves up the middle.

from the start on receiving the ball Stanley had virtually all the field dominance even though the each team had around the same possession.

Stanley then scored and converted it just before a sickening incident where one of our players had to be taken to hospital with a dislocate knee, this took over an hour to get the ambulance here and take off the hospital.

I fair bet that they would like to retract the cheers from the opposition parents after they knew how serious it was.

the game then carry on and where it left off with no team giving an quarter.

as the game went on into the second half Stanleys showed why they now a side to be reckoned with but its cost us dearly as players came off with knocks.

final score was the icing on the cake
not only had we scored for the first
not only had we beat Parkside for the first time
I am lead to believe its also the first time they have been niled

Personally I think the tactics of playing on a narrower pitch back fired on them, not only does this restrict the player development and learning how to play the game properly but it also made for a confrontational game in which quite a few kids took some heavy knocks.
I would also like to question the pitch in general as it has to be the worse I have ever seen

just like to add the the lad in question has come out of hospital and we hope that it isn't as bad as first thought
it was dislocated and had to be put under to put it back in.

first a bit of mixed news from yesterdays game with crigg,rhys the lad taken to hospital has torn his ankle ligaments and his on crutches and is looking at between 6-8 weeks before he can even consider rugby so the first half of the year for him is has good has over.



the game its self was a bit of a strange one,a fantastic start from crigg who came out like an house on fire but after having to withstand some heavy pressure we settled down and were unlucky not to score a few points "great defence from crigg" before ht and the try just before the break knocked the stuffing out of us,at 28-0 it would have been quite easy to drop heads but credit where credits due we started to put crigg under a bit of pressure on the back of a fantastic kicking game and chase and we were rewarded with 3 scores.crigg were the better side no doubt about it on the day.it doesnt get any easier at the minute with most of our players having to play firstly for the high school and then the cas cup on tuesday night at garforth followed by a trip to locklane on saturday for probably the most intense game we after play.

well done to all the kids that played it was a good advert for junior rugby.

well done to stanley for what sounds a good performance,lee is a decent fella and im pleased stanley are turning things around with the numbers.hope we can meet for a game in the near future has its always been a good game with little in it between the two sides.
