I used to go down on a weekend with me dad, to the shop down Barnsley Road and get a big tub of Rum and Raisin, which seemed very fancy back in the 80's and a big tub of a flavour called Dairy, absolutely gorgeous ice cream.

They like the odd whoopsie thats for sure

Didn't get many treats at our house

but this is one i can remember, used to get a bowl full off the van and fight over it in the house.

Seems they’re not planning on taking up the vacated Sainsbury’s store on Ings Road but setting up camp a few hundred metres up the road. Massive store by the looks of it. Sorry to say this but I hated Lumbs ice cream, I preferred Mr Softy's

Lumbs was full of ice and sucked plus he ran over my tortoise (Yellow ride on) when i was 6 , i could bypass the swear filter but i would be hear all day ....MELT HIM

Best ice - cream in the world mate . Used to join the queue n a blazing hot day for a 99 or one of them blocks of ice-cream sandwiched between 2 wafers wrapped in tracing paper many a time

I'd heard that Matalan (& i forget who) were going into the Sainsbury's building & that Tesco were then building a big store where Matalan ,old MFI etc . are.
Then a mate , who's wife works for Sainsbury's , told me this morning that Sainsbury's had realized what a balls up they'd made by going to Trinity Walk & were going to go back into Ings Road again !

I remember cutting a coupon out of the Wakey express and taking it Tandy, on the Springs, the week it opened for a massive free torch.

Never replaced the batteries. Never went in Tandy again.

Good - used to nip round there quite a bit at dinnertime before it shut - v. handy . Whoever signed up to move to trinity walk must be off their rocker
