| Quote ="Töm"the aim of the meeting was for the board to ask the shareholders which path they would like the club to take. Plan B, C or D. Shareholders voted and that's now what the club will finalise. All the talks with other parties have taken place already. I can understand if people don't have the money to put into the club and that they feel they should know all the goings on as they pay there money for the tickets for the games but some things have to be kept quiet for now.'"
But as Ted is the major shareholder what does it matter what the fans who have a small shareholding each vote for. Also, shouldn't such a vote be put to all shareholders? I am a shareholder and couldn't attend the meeting - can the club just press ahead on the basis of the vote from those who attended (cos Teds vote is the only one that really counts anyway).
Sorry, but yet again, this smacks of a pee poor organisation run by people who have no clue

after 4 weeks to get to the meeting i fully expected the club to come out fighting with plan b in place and the train back on the tracks.
it seems not, well not yet but onethings certain with out your paying public behind you wont stand a chance of getting through this tough period.

| OK. Yes I am a share holder and I went tonight.
The crux of part of the meeting was that the club needs investment. Ted has gone on record in the past as saying he is happy to step aside for the good of the club. He reiterated the same tonight. We need investment in the near future either by one or more than one person. One thing is for sure.

Me and my family are season ticket holders, shirt buyers, etc and cut holidays short to support the team through thick and thin. Do you not think that us mere fans - or Joe public as you called us - need to know what is happening.
We are losing fans left, right and centre and i for one can not blame them for voting with their feet.
No doubt the club will want us to get behind them, ie put our hands in our pockets again, well if my and my families input is not needed i will leave it to you and your fellow shareholders to bail us out.
The only thing the clubs management is doing at the moment is alienating the fans even further.

Maybe so, but from the very small bit of info on here, I would say they ain't going to be a WTRLFC for much longer (particularly whilst all the cloak and dagger stuff goes on and just alienates more of the existing fan base let alone the extra fans we need)

Your right, Ted own 75% of the club so its his decision at the end of the day but he at least gave the shareholders who could attend a chance to give a quick vote of how they feel. Didn't have to be done but its nice to have a say however little it is

| Plan B - which has been in discussion for around 12 months - is likely to be what most people imagine it to be, but may not be. In deference to the other parties involved, and their own requirements to advise their own supporters of the deal, it was agreed that any announcement would come at a later date.
Those present were asked their views, as shareholders of the club, as to the feelings towards GH, and towards other loactions. Despite a couple of comments re GH, most were dead set against the idea.
It was confirmed that it is possible that we could stay at BV in the event of us not recieving a licence - at least until NM is built.
NM is viable whether in SL or NL, but of course is ultimately based on SL.
There are other issues which were discussed and I would advise all existing Shareholders to ensure that they make sure the club have your correct details so that you can be mailed to.
Onwards and upwards!

I don't think Sir Rod will come to the rescue this time, his main business needs all the attention he can give it.

| The shareholders meeting is a mere formality and no stock can be given to it because all the shares put together cannot touch the major shareholders holdings. So all this about plan a-z is trash talk because there is no plan. The major shareholders will run the company as they dictate the meeting was there to probably look at ways of raising more funds to feed the money pit of running a pro-sporting club in 2011 (yes,we are not on our ownicon_smile.gif) or face the consequences.

Sorry TRB, but to even mention GH after publicly announcing we would not go there in the summer just makes Ted and the club look even dafter.
By the sounds of it, the stadium issue is not our most immediate problem - clearly if we are relying on outside investment and need it soon, but have no plan b that can be announced and no knowledge about the licence decision till July - we are totally screwed

Yeah!
You're right Tom, none of this half in half out stuff, if someone can't afford to buy shares as well as shirts, season tickets, merchandise and travelling costs then they should accept being treated as second class or they know what they can do.
I wonder how many have waited with baited breath for news of the clubs future and then having been treated with distain have said THAT'S IT!

| Regarding the finance side of tonights meeting, would I be right in assuming that one of the things put to shareholders was about increasing the amount of cash coming into the club?
If so were the shareholders given options, yet another share deal and another option?
If so is the reality of enough cash being generated based on previous such deals, basically a dead end street?

| Nobody is saying there is no plan B, the details have to be released when it is beneficial for ALL parties not just Wakefield.
Now is the time when ALL Wakefield fans need to rally behind the club and do what you can, if not it is simple we will not have a club.

To be fair GH was mentioned to give the Shareholders the ability to formaly reject any chance of considering it which they did so that end that.
There is a viable Plan B to cover us until Newmarket comes forward but has been said until all the i's have been dotted and the t's crossed the club do not wish to make a formal announcement. That will be done in conjunction with the other party at the appropriate time. Plan B is financially viable and would enable us to function satisfactorily until Newmarket is built.
The Club is seeking new investment, that's no secret, they have been seeking it for sometime now and have had setbacks and will continue to seek that investment but whether you wish to believe the fact that we have a Plan B or not is up those reading these forums.

If thats the case then the club need to start to make the fans (and not just those with shares) feel as important as they clearly are. You can't expect people to come out and spend more money when they are told nothing or anything that does come out is negative.
The club has been poorly run for far too long - there needs to be some plans from the club as to how they are going to address the issues - as I have said before, reducing the price on the gate might help for a start
