| We're privately traded like Arsenal rather than publically traded as Manchester United were - for purpose of how many shares need to be purchased.

Working from memory alone there were about 4 other backers/teams from the same competition that took the same decision to pull out as JF.
There were multi £million backers in the F1 circuit that made the same decision it wasn’t through lack of commitment but (ahem. . . Cough) financial prudence.'"
the bike racing effort just got pulled for the last meeting leaving funds to be found elsewhere! which i think was particularly shameful! and nobody else pulled out of that meeting!

I had a work mate that left to work for him, for over a year he had a great time and then it all went to pot, he got his job back successfully
rugby league is far less costly

An existing shareholder taking their ownership beyond 30% triggers a requirement for a mandatory OFFER for the rest of the shares, which is the issue being reported re Arsenal.
The 90% figure triggers a requirment to purchase regardless of the wishes of those minority shareholders (i.e. the Glazer takeover at Man Utd).

Doesn't have to be a good offer though does it?

| Most shareholders won't be bothered IF it's in the best interest of the club.
The shares are practically worthless and shareholders ignored.

Why the heck would you not want a wealthy backer? A backer who has run a club successfully before, kept the finances in order and obviosuly loves his sport?

If any of this 'new backer' news is true then I'm as happy as 'Larry!'
Will do some digging.........'"

Wakefield College - Doubt it
Everbuild - Possible
Prostar - See above.
Engage - Doubt it , conflict of interest what with being sponsors of super league (although it would gurantee a franchise )
Eric France - Among the possible runners & riders
Land Rover - Why would they buy Wakefield, more likely to be involved in rugby union
Can't think of any others.

Small change to someone like him. I bet the interest his bank account accrues tomorrow could pay our tax bill!
