Is he the mascot?

i havn't troubled helen, don't want to be pushy but he has been mascot for the last 3 games against catalans and we have won all 3..lucky? btw..will drop a disc with snowie tomorrow with catalan photos..been really busy and not had chance to do earlier.

With so many people saying the marketing team are onto a real loser with this one, what have they actually done (or are doing) to sell tickets for this game?

This is only our second venture into the play-offs in all our time in Super League and our first home tie. It's come off the back of a fantastic season and we've an excellent chance of progressing further.

The marketing team have had plenty of time since we found out our opposition to be flooding local buisnesses, schools, colleges,in and around town letting people know the success of the team and how they need the fans to turn up for them on Saturday.

What are we up against on Saturday night?

All other Sporting events on the day should have finished so nothing to clash with, It's on a Saturday evening so the kids will be alright with a late night. Catalans won't bring that many fans and the ones they do will be pleasant and decent and there should be no hint of any trouble to put families off.

I really can't see any competition, the only thing that will put people off is the cost. That's over to the club then to make it worth coming, build the event up, get some decent pre-match and half time entertainment in. Try and do deals with local food outlets, bars, nightclubs, all come together to try and make it a real event and make it worth the admission.

There's no reason at all why we couldn't get 7,000 - 8,000 in for this one with hard work from the marketing team..

fetching the wife and our two oldest boys, dont normally fetch em to night games as they are only 5 and 4 year old, but gonna knock em out for a kip in the afternoon then they wont be too tired for match, leave the babies at the Grans, cant wait for kick off

Could have got some of the promotion team into town town centre on Friday or Saturday and make it know what is going off! It's never too late!

We have something to be proud of so let's shout about it!!!

Anyone seen any marketing done for Sat night yet? (serious question by the way, not a dig!)

I don't see the appeal myself, never, ever been a Saturday drinker due to playing football on a Sunday morning and not being one of those who can play hungover. Surely that's all we're up against though, but alcohol will be available at the ground and people could make their way into town afterwards.

Here was an opportunity to team up with the local bars, taxi firms, restaurants etc... to do deals for people attending the game.

Like Wildthing, I'd seriously like to know what has been done this week from the marketing team..

Do Wakey have a marketing team? If they do then I too would like to see evidence of their efforts this week.

Approx 73% of the Leeds average, when applied to Trinity's then it looks like a crowd of 4.4K for tonight.

FFS give the marketing folk a break. I am all for marketing, I know we could do more and should do more but this is more than marketing.

We are in the play offs. We are playing well.We finished 5th in the league.
This game should not need marketing, if the people of Wakefield really liked their Rugby League they should be out side the ground queing up now. The bottom line is that the Wakefield public are pathetic !

By the way went to see a great acadamy game last night. The guys are playing great and they beat Wigan and are now in the grand final.
ABOUT 300 WERE THER TO WATCH. and that is why this City dosn't deserve a rugby team.

I agree, however the City of Wakefield are not getting of thier asses and coming down to watch us and its up to the marketing team to persuade them to get down and watch us!

The game shouldnt need marketing, but the simple fact is it does!
There isn't much us, as individuals can do (bar nag and badger friends and family to come down, which I do all the time!)

We need to market ever game aggressively, thats a fact. Its not good but its essential at the moment!!

You have to admit though that there are only a small percentage of out home gate will go out of their way to watch reserve/junior levels games. Yes, they may be winning, but I'm sure some people have lives outside of Wakefield Trinity.

If the first team got 300 gates, then we wouldn't deserve a rugby team.

At the Hull KR game the lads were rightfully given a lap of honour at half time, great move from the club. Our fans who were at the game gave them a good reception. Why did the club not make the announcer add something on in the slot where he introduced them going round the field.

There was no mention at all of an upcoming home game with Wigan to earn a place in the Grand Final. It's little things like that what have me shaking my head in disbelief.

Went to watch our reserves play Cas early in the season, there must have been a 1000 there. Excuses,Excuses,Excuses, the simple fact is we have a terrific hard core loyal support but the greater public have no interest of RL in wakefield.

If Wakefield had a lager drinking while watching telly competition we'd be top of the league.
