| The signs point to Mr Glover never actually submiting a proper offer and therefore the Administrators treating this as a liquidation.

| Quote ="RebelRebel"Can the administrator do this? This is my question. If Glover doesn't own the company yet, can the administrator issue redundancy notices on his behalf? Can I phone up tomorrow offering to buy the company on the understanding that anyone with a certain surname is made redundant before I do? I have my doubts.'"
The administrator certainly can issue redundancy notices; my suggestion was that he could be doing so as part of an informal agreement with Mr Glover, rather than under instruction. It's not unheard of when buying a business out of administration, to have the administrator do a bit of dirty work prior to completing the sale, to preserve your relationship with your new staff and stakeholders.

| Gutted for you, WAKEFIELD WILDCATS last night made all staff and players, including coach John Kear, redundant.
They have agreed to go into receivership and Saturday's Super League fixture in Perpignan is in doubt. Now this was taken from the Sun website so what its worth I don't know?

| Quote ="The Trip"Don't write this in stone but when people are made redundant they become a creditor of that company I believe. Which would be WTW.'"
Correct.
Outstanding holiday pay, wages and redundancy pay is classed as a preferential creditor - if the administrators don't have the funds then they have to submit a form to the insolvency service (Government owned).
The newly formed company doesn't hold any liability for the debt - nor does the person taking over the company from the administrators.
The major problem if it's true and the company has gone into receivership is the creditors have lost faith (guessing it's HMRC) which could now force the club into liquidation and in short you'd no longer exist.

It certainly is, and having been involved in such a situation recently I hope it is done correctly as a minor mistake can lead to an Industrial Tribunal!

But, if it is as some people are making out, to be re-employed in the morning by new owners (which is not redundancy) then all staff would presumably have to be taken on under TUPE?'"
Well strictly speaking, if they have been made redundant by the administrators, and paid accordingly tehn the deal is done before the takeover......so no TUPE rules. If Glover just takes over, then he has to follow TUPE rules.
Saying that, if everybody is made redundant and then half are taken on again, I reckon a half decent employment lawyer would have a case. It just depends whether they were paid redundancy. That could be better terms than being reemployed.

| the thing with redundancy is, it is the job, not the person that is made redundant, and twelve months before the job can be reintroduced, ok there are ways round renaming a job, but if we can manage with reemploying the necessary posts and losing the deadwood then we should be ok.
Also its a good way of the new owner getting shut of every last Richardson!!!!!!!!!

| Does anyone know how they got into so much debt?
The crowds at wakefield ain't too bad, plus you don't really have any superstar players, so i can't understand it.
You have similer crowds as Huddersfield and attract the same calibre of players as them, but Hudders seem to be doing ok for themselves?
If your new stadium doesn't happen, as an outsider i think a good idea would be to move into Dewsburys Stadium. With a little work it could be a cracking stadium.
A few of my wakey mates have said the same, Would be a bit silly going to Barnsley

That's the $64,000 question that we would all like Ted to answer.

I believe it was taking from one to give to another and then it just snowballed out of control due to poor financial management. Unfortunately some people think the best way to solve a financial problem is by borrowing more money creating a different one.
Ted would probably say Sainsbury's caused the problem as he did in the press last year.

| Personally i think playing in the championship next season will be good for you.
You have a few seasons to get your finances and stadium issues sorted out then apply for a SL licence for 2015.
There is life outside Super League

With respect, if Trinity were owned by Ken Davy and he covered their losses they would be doing alright for themselves.

Looks like a conclusion to this situation is getting closer and i hope for the sake of everyone involved with the club it is sooner rather than later and also that it is a positive conclusion.

I don't think he has the financial clout of Davy, but if he enables Trinity to continuing operating in some capacity then he has my gratitude.
