A few year ago when she was on that show Loose Women apparently she was always on to her mates about Allum's pies, eventually they called her bluff and asked her to bring some in, not wanting to be proved wrong she got onto Jonty and asked him to bring a tray full down on the train to the studios which he promptly did and were devoured on the studio set.

| Oddly enough they started in Holmfirth and I suddenly received about 6 calls asking if some of the cars in the Oil can cafe were mine, which they were, several friends were on the programme that day also.
Like a lot on here I can remember when the outdoor market was in its pomp and as a teenager spent many a happy hour on the "ark" the speedway ride just as you came in from the kirk gate end.
On the subject of her RL credentials I did see her a couple of times at Sammy s when they used to have talent nights, and she seemed quite friendly with the Sampson clan so who knows

No I don't, but I suppose I deserve that for not getting in first and pointing it out that it was Jonty what told me and I have never watched it

That would be Joe Shaws, I spent more time picking meself up off the floor after trying to sneak on for free when the lights went out, there used to be a chap called Allan Jones what used to sell hot chestnuts, his lad young Jonah still sells them now in Barnsley town centre.

| What makes it so sad is when you watch the early seventies footage the city look so vibrant and oddly far bigger. Even though technically the place is bigger now than then. People everywhere.
The mid 90’s was the last time it was even close to how I remember the seventies. Not just Wakey I know but I can’t help but believe that those of us born in the fifties and sixties probably had it as good as it’s ever likely to be in terms of lifestyle.
I’m aware it wasn’t the same for everyone, nor am I a Luddite it’s just a nagging feeling that life’s going to get a lot harder for my kids and grandkids.
Sorry to be so melancholy

| It’s good and yes she does plug Wakefield
But it’s lacked any mention of Wakefields only professional sports club other than Neil Fox rugby league player
Some footage of the glory years of the 60s would have been nice to see.

Don't think you need to be a fan to enjoy it, it's the subject, not the presenter. If I applied that logic to RL I'd never watch it on TV!
Yes, she grates at times but I do think she's genuine in her love for the place.

| I have to say if I was Wakefield born and bred I would be really chuffed how often she does mention the town at every opportunity.
I`ve seen her on the Cruising programmes and on my Yorkshire and she never fails to mention Wakey in a very good light.
She is a bit like marmite but I have grown to like her over the years especially as she appears proud not only of Wakefield but her background and family loyalties.

| My daughter works at the Dam Inn on Barnsley Road and she spent a lot of the time there during the filming of the Newmillerdam scenes. . She says that she is just the same off camera and a genuine nice lass..

While not a Trinity supporter as such she says she likes us to do well.

| It’s a pleasant easy watching series that shows both Yorkshire & Wakey in good light. Nothing to dislike.
As for Jane…we met her on a cruise once and she was just like she is on TV. As said before, she is just a “nice lass”.
Wakey should be proud of her!

| She’s probably the most famous celebrity Currently from Wakefield. Watched an episode of her doing a cruise up in Scotland the other year where she sang in a cave, her voice is unreal. I’m sure she’s off Peacock as she went to school with my mates dad.

| Her family home was on Silcoates Street...the terraced houses on the left before you get to Lincoln Street, I believe, so almost on Peacock, hence her association with Balne Lane club.

I believe she lived on Silcoates Street, Pat, just off Balne Lane. I think, but may be wrong, that she attended St Michaels juniors on Flanshaw Lane.

| The wife and I watch her cruising adventures on Channel 5 every weekend, and Wakefield always seems to get a mention.
She's on at 14:55 this afternoon cruising Asia, for those interested. Just a bit cringe when she sings haha.
