Fev have a strong team out. Could easily challenge a super league team in a one off.

Definitely, I could see us being beaten if they want to prove a point. I don’t care so long as we don’t get any injuries and have a decent hit out.

Front page of Wakey Express says "Trinity face Fev in pre-season derby test" and to go to the sports section, so I went to the sports section and ....the game doesn't even get a mention and neither is there any mention of last weeks match either !!!

Personally don't think Fev have there best side out, think they'll still go well but not as worried as I was earlier in the week (lol). Key players missing in Pickersgill, Leilua and Chisholm, obviously nobody knows how Leilua will go but I've had the pleasure of watching a lot of Pickersgill and Chisholm, they'll be missed.

Three times since 2008 when we left the UK ...but I left wakey in 1995

Chisholm and Connor Jones, who has Covid, are the two most important players missing for Fev, as you say Leilua hasn't arrived yet. Chisholm when on song provides the spark that we don't always have when he's missing. We'll probably move Hall to full back for Pickersgill and play a back row at centre.

We were reasonably competitive in the first half against Leeds last week, losing 12-6 until they scored just before the hooter, though we were playing downhill.

We didn't go so well against their fringe players up the slope in the second half but we had taken off Koppy, Lockwood, Sene-Lefao and Moors, and as a group our replacement middles in particular are quite small. We started to get on top when those 4 came back on.

I had heard of each of Copczack, Moors and SL from their Superleague days ... but I’d never heard of Lockwood so I looked him up ... and was really surprised that three of the four are 35 years old... that’s a big risk for a team courting promotion....

Looks like the Minns and Davetenivalu combo is hitting hard at Oldham. 4 try’s between them both to put trinity in control.

No. Definitely Lockwood from Crofton. Only one game I can put a date to though. When we had to win 4 from 6 under Kear we lost at Saints in one of those 6 fixtures. We got there early and the curtain raiser game was either academy or some other reserve or junior type grade and JL played in that game. He would have been 20 years old.

Jonlee Lockwood? He’s 43/4 these days.

His wiki page shows he’s from Wakefield but only shows his playing record as Dewsbury and Featherstone with a break for a drugs ban

Confusing.

It's very difficult for upwardly mobile Championship teams to build a young team, and especially a young pack, because as soon as they show any talent, especially in the forwards, they are snapped up by a SL team. We lost James Harrison and Frankie Halton, two forwards with outstanding potential, at the end of last season, and there's such a dearth of forwards even at SL level that veterans such as Moors and Koppy, who were both good for us last year, are very solid signings.

Lockwood isn't a flashy player at all so am not surprised he's not well known outside the Championship but he's been one of the most well-respected players around in the second tier, a real workhorse and massively popular with his team mates to the extent that even though he's quiet he's still the obvious choice as captain. He's originally from Sharlston (or maybe Crofton as mentioned) and I think he's long-time pals with Danny Kirmond from the same neck of the woods.
