| Shouldn't need segregation at rugby, I sat in the stand with loads of (biased) Wakey fans, but there were great with me and had some good conversations with them about the game, that's what rugby should be about.

Agree with this, however with both sets of fans in close proximity and plenty of ale about then there is always the niggle that something may 'kick off'.
At the Wigan game, I pointed out to one of the stewards the Wigan fans in the North stand and indicated the message that is put on the website prior to every home game. He was very pleasant and we had a long chat and he basically said that if 'away' fans were in the North stand then they could ask them to leave and relocate down the West terrace, but if they did not want to move then there was nothing they could do and they had be instructed not to push the issue any further. My retort was asking him why they allowed them onto the North terrace in the first place ie intercept them on entering via the turnstile and 'move them' on to the west side. He just shrugged his shoulders. I suppose the stewards could be located outside the ground and direct away fans to the turnstile entrances on the West side.

| Didn't see/ hear any trouble whatsoever (apart from the idiot on the roof) but, either have segregation or don't, we shouldn't be blowing with he wind.
Having said that, there is still a shortage of Wakey fans and due to the number of FC fans at BV today, they may not all have managed to fit down the western terrace.
I asked one of the stewards why there were Hull fans in the North stand and he said it was ok and that it ws in line with the instructions that they had taken from the club.

Match day arrangements state unequivocally, north stand is strictly home fans only.

I agree that the game should not go the way of football with segregation but for me there has to be a balance. It's great that we share a pint in the bar pre match and can walk around the ground at half time but during the match it creates a much better atmosphere when each clubs fans stand as separate groups. It makes for a much more vocal game and at Belle Vue the Northstand is our home stand and should be respected as that by away fans.
Unfortunately every club also has the odd muppet or two and by having separate areas their own fellow fans can shut them up if they attempt to misbehave.

| We were in the north stand, no hint of bother. A couple of wakey fans getting irate with stewards about Hull fans in there, but nothing to write home about. I didn't know it was supposed to be segregated? I think the Hull fans in there enhanced the atmosphere as every time they started to sing, so did you. Bit of banter never hurt anyone. If the club don't want away fans in the north stand then make them use west stand turnstiles and put it on the ticket. Mine said standing and didn't specify a stand.

Exactly, yet the Stewards don't attempt to enforce it.
It's all very half hearted.

| Why send out messages that the North Stand is for home fans only, then roll over on game day and let away fans populate large parts of it? It either is or it isn't - personally, I'd prefer if it was, but get your story straight and enforce it properly.

| Until we get Newmarket or new belle Vue with an away stand we will have this problem as long as the bulk of the away fans go on western terrace in the mean time. It's all about managing flash points with have cost us fines and make uncomfortable match experience for all.

| Led to believe the seats were a problem yesterday with season ticket holders finding their seats occupied - that is unacceptable. Now the club are constantly telling us it is segregated via email/social media etc so people go to the Northstand on matchday expecting a Wakefield only stand. To find hundreds of Hull fans in there is going to give some people the hump. If Wakefield supporters have been made to feel uncomfortable yesterday then that is very poor form by the club.
After all the problems with stewards down there for the current security provider to say they can't move people is ridiculous. This would surely mean they can't force this kids to not sit on the blue wall in east stand and they are quite happy to get moody with parents about that and lay hands on kids.

| Although I agree segregation should be enforced if we are having it, I thought the Hull fans were fine. Good humoured and loud for their team. And stayed to clap their team off too.
They did us a big favour bringing so many fans. £££

Whatever happens outside of a venue is hardly the responsibility of a club, apparently one of their fans was that elated with their unexpected win, and celebrated it by climbing on the toilet roof, maybe those Hull fans what did what they did in the cemetery were also guilty of excessive celebrations as well who knows, the point I was making was that generally speaking the Hull fans in the ground were well behaved which is all you can expect and want for.
We could of course stop the sale of alcohol in the ground, I'm sure that will eliminate all the problems.

| What happened in the cemetery? I hope it wasn't anything too unpleasant - my old Nan is buried in there.
It's all well and good saying they were ok and nothing happened - but if it did, who'd be the club facing another fine? And if the literature says it's home fans only, then the club allow away fans in, that doesn't bode well if an incident happens and is investigated; if you're going to set a rule, it's always best to implement it, to avoid any perceived inconsistency.

| Im an FC fan who stood in the North Stand with lots of other FC fans basically because the western terrace were full. We brought a great traveling support who put a lot of cash into Wakefields bank account there was no problems in the ground between fans the atmosphere was excellent in the North Stand, a bit of singing and banter between the fans nothing more. I can understand you have had issues before but I took my 75 year old mother with my group and felt totally safe in there.
Im a bit a miss why the original poster could find anything negative about a decent following spending money to get in and buy food and drinks that benefits your club financially.
Lastly i would like to wish you luck for the rest of the season you've improved fantastically since Chester has come in, Miller is one of the best running halfs I have seen all season, hopefully you will be able to keep hold of Johnson the lad is big, strong and has pace.

Wigan have the walk we have the Whiners. Next game it'll be the turn of those who want to go on the western terrace whining because of segregation. It was a great day enhanced by the size of the crowd and the intermingling. Just like the old days.

I'm sure you won't be 'whining' next time we get a fine for crowd trouble will you?
FC brought a decent support (not exactly the record away support at BV they seem to think mind) and there wasn't any
crowd trouble but we have to have belt and braces with regards to no future crowd issues, segeration is important to ensure
this doesn't happen again.
