Definitely Cas tigers, I was told by the father of a player who's been served the notice.

it Salford anybody who knows anything about the game know it is them them and they sacked an overseas player as well this week. Instead of picking holes in Cas have a good look at your sinking ship.

What baffles me about this is we (Tigers) have been doing quite well lately so I cannot see in any way how we can say players haven't performed. Since DP took over we look a completely different team in defence. If anyone looks out of place in the squad I would say Jamie Ellis and Steve Nash. Webster is injured but the club have confirmed he will be an integral part of the team next year.

Why guess who its about, and just because JINJER says they heard it from a players Dad with no proof how can we take this as true? Player name?

Also contracts can be terminated for many reason not just financial hardship....

Another player who recently looked to be at risk was Ritchie Owen but he too has turned it round. He is on a decent contract at CT though (so they say) so who knows ?

If it is possible to terminate a contract of a player who isn't performing, Legally. Then I don't see any problem with it.

Daryl Powell has come in, And will have his own ideas, And some of our players are on over inflated contracts - If they aren't worth it, And he can get rid of them, Thats only a good thing.

I can think of 4 or 5 players that should be shown the door/ Have contracts renegotiated. And if Powell has put the players on such a warning. Thats a good thing.

That's not how contracts work. You can't just say, you are not playing well so I will terminate your contract.
It first of all depends on what is in the contract, whether performance indicators are in writing and then they would have to show they have made attempts to manage that problem, and also, prove that the deficiency was cause by the player alone, rather than team issues or even their own management.
Minefield to just get rid for poor performance.

I do believe something has gone on. Are you sure it isn't just a case of he isn't getting a renewed contract rather then getting his contract terminated?

No team would be sacking any player at this time of the season based on performance, discipline maybe, performance never.

This sounds more to me like Chinese Whispers. I would guess it goes something like.

Player has been told he is not being renewed because his performance is not what is expected. He tells his Dad. Dad tells the whole world his son has been sacked. Maybe with a few expletives included

or maybe his dad should tell his son to understand the he isn't meeting standards and get his arris working and knuckle down to what can be a fruitful career

Has anyone ever seen figures relating to how much various players get paid??? I've always wondered what the averages are per SL team.

I recall the first "evening with" Richard agar when he came to the club, at which he discussed this topic in more detail than you would expect. He said that most clubs senior players would be on 100k or more per season, and that all other clubs in SL had numerous amounts of these senior players (obviously the big teams had more than the smaller ones). At that time ,the beginning of last season we had no one earning more than 100k, I understand that that has now changed.

How many we now have though I have no idea.
