| A sensational player - would hope that he can gain more professionalism in the NRL and maybe just maybe become a more complete player and individual
One thing is for sure - we will enver beat the aussies with players in the team with his attitude.
Maybe if that can be rectified and his play became more structured than 'off the cuff he will be universally welcomed in an England shirt..... maybe.

This scenario reminds me an awful lot of Danny Brough's eventual move to Huddersfield. We were all in uproar, but if he had stayed his wages would have crushed the club and been detrimental. It seems Rangi's salary of £180k has handicapped Castleford's recruitment and led to last and probably this seasons poor form.
They can't sell him because either no one is interested or know Cas are desperate to offload him. It'll be interesting to see if and how teu invest his salary once he's gone.
That said, getting rid of him will significantly benefit Castleford in the long run, it might just take a while like losing Brough did to us.

| Feel for Cas fans on this one which is a rarity. They made this lad and they got the club to offer him a great deal and he also managed to become a somewhat dubious international mainly on their support. I don't know the full story but it seems a real slap in the face, and as Trinity fans we know how that feels.

| Im not convinced that this is what their board would have wanted to happen. I like seeing Rangi Chase in Superleague but not sure if Cas can afford to keep him. A massive overhead and I think I read that if he went the money wouldn't be re-invested into the team it would just improve running costs.
Good news for Cas? I'm not sure.

| An embarassing debacle for all concerned - it's ever nice to see someone's dirty laundry aired in public.
I feel a bit sorry for Cas, lumbered with a player they can't afford and who's off-field behaviour put the mockers on a lucrative move to Hull FC; this could have bigger implications for the club than might be immediately obvious.

| I believe the damage caused over the last couple of seasons will have truly tainted the relationship between the player, the club & the fans.
His god-like perception of quite a few Cas fans coupled with his inclusion to the England setup has created a monster.
Also, with the club struggling financially to try and hang on to the coat tails of clubs chasing a top eight place, the lure of reducing their wages bill was too great, especially with the added sweetener of a transfer fee from Hull. However, due to his visa problems, the only way Cas could offload him was back to Oz, even that’s failed.
So whilst many Cas fans are ecstatic the messiah will have his second coming, the seeds of doubt have been sown.

| The thing with Chase is he creates these issues. The visa problem was brought about due to his issues in Oz. The going back to Oz issue were created by him using two different agents. I seems it would have been sorted but for this fact. I think they lost patience because of it been unclear which agent represented him. Although that is speculation.
I think that keeping him will cause money issues at Cas and stop any money for ground developement taking place. I take no joy out of this it is very sad that when a smaller club at least try to keep hold of there prize assets it blows up in their face. I think Richard Wright has left Steve Ferres holding a player contract that is beyond the means of the club.

| He's a quality player, but deep down both parties must be resigned to the fact they're stuck with each other. There will be a lot more to run with the Rangi Chase saga that's for sure.

I think you'll find that the 'smaller club' comment was inclusive of WTW.

Look who's talking and you might want to remove that chip off you're shoulder because you've just made most of that up yourself. Where does he say we're a big club, that's right he doesn't and even if he was talking about Trinity he would refer to it the same, as a smaller club, another cringer from you.

| A bit of a sorry tale this one.
It seemed that Chase wanted out and that Cas wanted to cash in their "prize" asset and now they are stuck with each other (for another season at least) and Chase has gone from being worshiped, to being a reluctant player for a team that he has no interest in.
Never mind though, he's still coining it in with his contract, so he aint losing anything !

| I'm not really convinced Chase "wanted out" and I'm don't think I would describe him as a "reluctant player for a team that he has no interest in" just yet. Even in the last home game of the season against London we saw flashes of his brilliant best and that was playing at full-back.
When he was suspended by CT for 4 weeks, he says he was expecting getting sacked and was merely finding another club in Hull FC.
I don't really know what to believe in the whole sorry saga but what I do know is the debacle has mostly been created by his agents and members of staff at Hull FC - the same ones who conspired to unrest Johnson from WTW.

One would hope that Mr Pearson has learned not to conduct his business in public from here onwards, but his arrogant demeanour would suggest otherwise.
Either way, I hope this doesn't backfire on Cas - if they weren't factoring his contract value in their sums for next season, £150k is a big hole to fill.

| There are definitely worse players to be 'stuck' with. Would much rather play Cas without him in the side!
Still can't see him been there next year.

| To clarify from earlier we are included in the smaller clubs "group" in no way did I indicate WTW are bigger than Cas. On other posts I have clearly indicated that smaller clubs need to support each other.
I like the rivalry between WTW and Cas but lets not make something out of nothing here?
