He's playing out of his skin and deserves his place. No need to blame others for him not doing it before, he's just maturing into his potential. He's still young and has more improvement in front of him I'm sure.

If he plays consistently anywhere near this form he'll keep the 1 shirt for 7-8 years.

I’ve been critical of the treatment of Max for years, he is now starting to show why he should be first choice number 1 and should have been for a while. Keep it up kid.

How good it is to see Max getting a good run at FB, the number 1 shirt must be his next season.

I don't know how long Max has left on his contract, if it's short I hope we're in talks with him!

Absolutely stunning performance from Max, as good an 80 minute full back performance you’ll see anywhere...I’ve always been a big fan!

Feel he has been made a scapegoat at times but has also suffered quite a few injury setbacks which has also contributed to him being in and out of the side...just hope he can remain injury free because on his performances since going back to full back he’s shown we’ve got a terrific player there for years to come!

I know this thread is about Max but there is so many similarities with another young product James Batchelor!

Another who has looked a scapegoat at times (Cas away) and that sin bin...but has also been stop start with injuries...thought he was magnificent tonight too, after copping an elbow clean on the snout early doors...hope he can stay injury free too because his work rate, tackling ability, energy and lines he runs all make him a real star of the future...

Along with Crowther, Johnstone etc...we’ve got a good core of quality homegrown players we need to trust and believe in more because that is the key to success...

There are numerous reasons why players don’t always kick on as soon as some expect.

There were flaws on Jowitts game that needed ironing out. No need to blame Grix, there must be a reason why he was preferred at the time. Let’s not rewrite history here when Grix was with us we were a good team and he played his part.

Grix is now long gone and I’d argue that it’s since he left that Jowitt could argue that he’s not been given a fair go.

Ditto Walker, when a potentially good player comes free then you can’t knock a coach for speculating.

Finally, had Jowitt had an easy run would he have the toughness and resilience he clearly now has, I don’t think so.

Forget about should or shouldn’t of happened in the past, it worthless speculation.

What matters is that he’s now arrived, no one can argue that.

As far as I’m concerned another near flawless performance, nothing else matters.

I didn't mind him to be fair, and he played a part, I just dont think Jowitt got a fair crack in the two years he was here. I'd say ability-wise Jowitt shaded it even at his young age, Grix as a veteran had to be so much better to justify his continued selection and he just wasn't.

Still this is Jowitt's fanfare, well played lad. Keep it up.

I've been impressed with Batch over the past 3 games. Great in defence, running some Ashurst type lines and making good yards. Another player who will benefit from playing more games.

I’ve never bagged players on here but he frustrated the hell out of me, sorry.

That there is no doubt. The St Helen's game will sadly never be erased from my memory, but he did some good things too.
