I don't think the pack is evenly matched. We have bigged our pack up this season and although in terms of weight and size it probably is equally the largest, when we don't have Fifita we lack drive, tackle busts and winning the ruck. Castleford have beaten our pack every game I've seen us play them since I can remember.

I agree wholeheartedly which is why it is bemusing we never kick for them to try and attack the ball on the opponent's try line. It is one part of our game that infuriates me. Johnstone must be one of the best leapers for the ball I have seen and we never bloody kick it high for him to catch or if we do the kick is far too deep for him to do anything with.

Cas are missing a few from the pack though, probably most notably JSL who for me is on par with Moors as their best forward, as i said though as it is i think they edge it in the pack slightly.

Agreed we don`t utilise them anywhere near enough as we should do, beggars belief really when you look at how poor our last tackle plays are 15/20 meters out..

I would hope that we will be putting their FB and wingers under some kick pressure tonight as it does seem to be their Achilles heel at the moment. Looking forward to the game, always enjoy our derby games both at home and at Cas.

Just a bit of defence on behalf of BJB,I think most wingers are coached to attack the centre when defending and the FB should hopefully be following the ball and gets over to the winger, so he maybe following orders....maybe.

At the risk of offending, Finn and Grix are starting to make Smith and Mathers look quick. Horo and Pauli are turning out to be uninspired signings.

Couldn't agree more there regarding Horo and Pauli. I know Pauli needs time to get fitness, but both of them probably on decent contracts and quota spots, how long do you give them.

I really hope the halves are freshened up for Hull. At times we looked to lack ideas when we were near their line.

Not all bad though, think we defended better tonight than we have in last couple of weeks apart from when we stood back and allowed Gale to run laterally across the line to set up their only try.

I give my opinions on PP elsewhere, basically that he joined in January, so already he was trying to get in shape after his broken leg & he missed a big chunk of Preseason. What does CC do, he's the one that will see his stats in a much better way than we do and can make the calls based, eg, say If it's fitness thing or whatever. They have that thing attached to their back to see if he's blowing after 10 minutes and how quickly he's recovering after each carry or if it takes him longer to get his HR down.
As for Horo, at first a thought he was doing alright as a new guy in the side but there's no excuse for fitness and injury for him. I'd get Batchelor in there, I'd have done it a couple of games back tbh. The lads better than him now imo and doesn't miss tackles and carries the ball well.

Said it before they signed horo and got shouted down-

If we compare last season against the same opponents with this season against the same opponents we are only 2 points worse off (ie the Wigan loss)

If it's some dodgy conspiracy, why didn't we do the same last week? Could have done with him. Nah it's because it's a Derby and as we know he's got groin problems where he's' taking injections just to get him out the field, so it looks like this week was more important for the win than against Wire away.

Have to agree regarding Horo and Pauli. We have squad players who would bust a gut to get the chances those two have had. Time for a change maybe?

not that we have anyone else but the time for change is the halfs - miller and finn.

Stupid penalties gifting Cas field position cost that game. What's the point in fantastic attack pinning them to their 10 to gift them field position on the first tackle

Yes 7 games in, and 23 regular weekly rounds. My main point was as the rounds pass by, you would expect him to be improving, but he appears to be the same as in the first couple of rounds.

These type signings, can be a gamble if they don't work out, especially if they're taking up cap space and a quota spot.

Hope it works out for both players here, but just not convinced yet
