Is Fozzard qualified in Marketing/Advertising/Sponsorship generation or running the ball in hard on a rugby field and stiff arming opposing players in defence? How does this help with his business position at the club?
He gets paid which should be performance related in any case ..... what has he done since he arrived? Those Wakefield supporters that are trained/experienced in this area and semi retired may be able to offer their services if not in this area but in other areas of the club? The most important point I was trying to make is that they would be unpaid and off the wage bill. A similar thing has been done on a volunteer scouting scheme that was launched last year.

Other cost saving ideas get volunteers to run the club shop like they do the charity shops and save money there. Or even just has an on-line shop instead and save on thousands on the costs of business premises costs at the Ridings by closing them down. Any publicity events open up the shop at the ground and get the players to serve customers!



We need a rugby team on the field so all non playing staff should be shown the door and made redundant and costs such as the shop closed down ASAP if its as bad as suggested. All merchandising must be done on line to save costs or sold on match day from the shop there by volunteers.

The only problem with using volunteers instead of paid staff if that we are supposed to be a professional sports club, and should be run like a business as one should be.

We are not too far away from the days when the board relied far too heavily on volunteers, and that didn't work out in the club being well run did it?

Said from day 1 that we shouldn't treat Glover as some kind of messiah. Yes, his money "saved" the club at that point, but I fully believe there will not be a point in my lifetime where this club, in some form, does not exist.

You can fool double glazing punters with hype but you can't fool that majority of rugby league supporters, only the few who hero worship owners and chairmen in the hope of picking up crumbs from the top table.

Club statement ? Sounds familiar ? Isn't this the very same statement AG Made when he took over. Apart from a few figures changed to protect the guilty. Some have welcomed it as open and honest.If so why does it not explain why we are in this mess again so soon after the last debacle. why not say if JE is still involved. AG was not open and honest., If just told you the bits that suited him .MC is doing the same. How long before if starts employing his friends and. family .How much is he actually going to put in to the club. Probably no greater percentage of his income/wealth than I am or any other committed supporter. We need to in back to being a MEMBERS club. Where being a member means you have a say in running a club. Electing a committee to oversee and monitor the clubs employees. A radical idea ? Well no. It's just how clubs used to be run before we trusted in corrupt business men .

My love for Wakefield will never die my love of RL and the farce that SL has brought to the game has.
I will not attend today or next week I will not allow a knee jerk to the situation I need time to consider renewing my season ticket and continuing to pay into the 1873 If JE was to be sacked the decision maybe easier

i love the club but sometimes you just get worn down by it all. it just gos on and on. ag hasnt become a successful business man by being thick even he knows you cant spend what you havnt got, so why let it get so far out of control again.

It looks like he put too much faith in JE. Lets face it running a window company is one thing but entering what is traditionally a loss making business of running a SL club is another. I think Glover realised this but at the same time misjudged Elstons ability when he delegated him big responsibilities.

Sometimes saying less is best, we like probably quite a few clubs are strapped for cash but they don't advertise it quite so Publically. I blame many on this forum for their paranoia forcing our new chairman into an ilconcieved statement. He has with his announcement allowed open season by the press on all our players signed or not. If we sell more players I hope some on here are happy with their contribution.

Presumably the plan was to increase attendances with the reduced prices, followed by a year on year increase in the price of the S.T’s.

Judging by our attendances over the last two years the plan was making progress. In hindsight the price hike should have been greater, however, it’s a risky manoeuvre to go too high.

The loss of our main sponsor had a far more detrimental effect than not increasing prices by enough IMO – allegedly in the reason of the said £400k.

Yes this was my first post but I was under the impression this was a forum. I have been a season ticket holder, shareholder and supporter since 1970. The reason I felt the need to post was because I was fed up of reading self righteous members who feel they know best and don't take criticism of their views too well.

I suppose if you read the usual suspects tonight's defeat is down to either, Fox, Cockayne, washbrook or all three depending on their personal dislikes. We are in trouble but I still feel some of you are responsible for making the situation worse and forcing the chairman's hand to make what I felt was an ill conceived and far too detailed statement just to placate some of you. If you look at the other clubs forum they have supporters making criticisms but no club felt the need to make a statement.

Maybe the players ought to set up like a swear box from match days to contribute towards the shortfall.

For every handling error, or penalty conceded, they should donate something towards the debt (ie £50 or £100 toward the mistake).

After tonight this would soon be made up.
