SAMs been a great player for us, he's often been the one shining light in otherwise dismal performances and has sparked us into life when we were looking dead in the water on a few occasions.

That said he has also had his fair share of anonymous games but what player hasn't?

1873 are not officially in charge of club affairs yet until paper work is done so here goes. Hull ask to speake to Sam offer him one last good pay day before he retires, he gets a 2 year contract and some stability so agrees to go. He tells the Administrators he wants to leave and with their being money on the table the administrators acts without the same emotion the Club would and sell him.

Think about it better money, longer contract, super league license, all adds up to Sam wanting to go, and if they want to go not much you can do.

It is a shame that he has gone because we are now even more short at halfback unless we have a replacement signed up but i somehow doubt it because of the speed of the deal.

Hopefully this will allow us to bring Hicky over sooner but i have a feeling we still wont see him for at least a month.

totally gutted heard the news at the club shop this morning and for me has ripped the heart out of the half backs we now need someone to stand up and take his place,

Players such as Tansey have to be looked at very closely. Despite his 'bad boy' image he can be a real asset on the pitch and could do a good job for us. The interview would have to involve setting out firm rules on behaviour though!

Can't see Sam playing regularly if Sean Long stays fit unless they use him at hooker,also hull fans are used to bigger signings than this over the past couple of years so if he doesn't play well they may turn on him,but hope not.

Know what you mean but, and i never thought i'd hear myself saying this, we need him. We are now that short in the halves its ridiculous.

To be fair his commitment to the cause will endear him to the Hull supporters much as it has with us. What he may lack in quality he more than makes up for it with effort.

On that note, is Korky still actually classed as on loan from Huddersfield? Wasn't that part of the Brough deal?

Thing is Hull are looking to win trophies and am not sure Sam fits the type of player they need,effort and commitment will not win trophies without quality.Seems a desperate signing by Hull after trying for Sammut and Chase.

It's looking like loan signings will be the order of the day; if we get sufficient interest, I'd cancel the contracts of Smith and Tony, who were both bloody awful signings anyway. It's going to be a long and difficult season, that seems a given; personally, I'd rather watch it played out by young, home-grown lads with a point to prove.
