I’d take that as an Urban myth. Basically Cas wanted out and Wigan wanted in. The blokes a bit of an unpleasant character but he’s a fine player. However just because he’s not the sort of bloke I’d invite round for tea doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be a good signing. Sometimes you need a few edgy characters in a team.

He's a very good player at his best, the question will be his attitude. If he did come with the right attitude then he'll go very well you would imagine. Doesn't seem like our kind of signing though? Likely expensive and not without extra risk

Must admit, heard the Miller deal was a big one for him and impossible to resist, but who knows. Also, anyone heard CC will be assistant in Wane’s world? If so,there’ll be plenty of sniffing around.

The cc rumour was mentioned on here a week or two after he departed, can't see it myself.

Seems a strange one to me but it wouldn't be the first time I'd be surprised by player movement.
I thought Miller had been playing well with Lino and it's a shame to break that partnership.
As for Hardaker - well I seem to remember the same comments being made about Ben Cockayne before he came but he turned out to be ok for us.
I think MC has shown in the past (with Locke and Smith) he won;t stand for any nonsense, so I'd be ok with him coming to us.

There was an interview where it says said he had to move over there to be away from the bad influences. I think it was Radlinski. He’s still a top player, I just can’t see it happening myself.

No it wouldn’t. Players come and go and there is every chance that could be a good thing as much as a bad thing. How do you know that the player who replaced him wouldn’t do a better job.

Don’t get me wrong I hope it’s a load of tripe and he stays but no player is indispensable.

The possible rumour there could turn out in our favour, who knows.

Not sure who'd play 6, personally, I'd prefer Rocky there, but Gaskell can play there too.

Hasn't Hardaker been spending time in the centre in recent seasons. I think since Tupou's injury problems, he's been the shadow of his former self. Also, with the possibility of Arundel going, it does give us options.

Also, it would free up a quota spot, which could be used to strengthen elsewhere.

Hopefully some positive news on the stadium, with confirmation of the new coach, and maybe some new incoming players

If I were into conspiracy theories then if Wigan have been after Miller for a while then the signing of Gaskell.

I’m not into these theories but for those who are then there you go.

I love the close season. Full of optimism, anticipation, Boxing Day friendly and free weekends.

If Gaskell is that good ,why did Wigan not go after him ,Hoping it is not true but if it is, it's a backwood step for Wakefield .OK we got a quota spot .but we would have to find a 6.

Just think it through.
If Wigan are shopping for a stand off at the club who scraped 10th place and letting an international centre/fullback go in return, they are in more trouble than I thought.

Perhaps we might find a 6 without the 80+ missed tackles and 30 errors in a 20 game season !
