| Quote ="Trinity Till Death"In my opinion, it'll be to annouce Steve Parkin joining the board of Spirit 1873 and to invest a vast amount of money. They probably have some good news with regard to NM, but nothing concrete and certainly not anything which will significantly speed up the PI process.
Parkin's involvement is to link up WTW & a football team, as sporting Wakefield with the intention to play out of NM although plans have been drawn up for a new stadium to be based at .............. as a Plan B to satify the RFL. NM to remain the priority!
In the short term, AG has bought BV and will make temporary improvements, and there will be a season ticket offer at heavily discounted price but only for a small period time!
Maybe a massive sponsorship deal with the Clipper Group? And a new signing to
That's my thinking'"

Do you remember Ken Davey making a similar boast about an important announcement at Shudds a few years ago. Turned out they were plunging reduced priced season tickets for following seasons. Hope to god its not something similar.

He also announced it on the pitch at half time. He didn't book a special venue for it, or schedule it to run for 2 hours.
Whatever AG has to say, it'll obviously take some explaining/displaying.

| As Donald Rumsfeld might have put it:
As we know, there are known knowns. There are things we know we know.
We also know there are known unknowns.
That is to say we know there are some things we do not know.
But there are also unknown unknowns, the ones we don't know we don't know.
The club put in a 700 page franchise application, which they spent a lot of time on producing, but kept the contents largely secret. They were confident, at the time, that the contents would be sufficient to keep WTRLFC in SL.
Since then, they have been quoted as saying that, although they worked hard on producing the report, they have been working harder still on putting those things into action. I would suggest that some, or all, of those will become public knowledge on Wednesday night. I'm hoping for a headlining announcement, but I feel some will be disappointed.
The location seems to smell of money men being involved and having a 'meeting' rather than just an announcement seems to suggest that they want some input. How are we doing on members? Are we anywhere near their published target of 5000?

| OK, here goes - the news is out!
Glover to announce a new board member coming on board with lots of cash. A detailed description of what was in the franchise application and why we now believe that if judged fairly we are in for next season. We have sorted the ground issue temporarily until Newmarket is ready.
As a signal of intent and to put some pressure on the RFL we publicly announce that we are spending to the full salary cap and as part of that unveil the 2 new marquee signings for next season.
1) Darren Lockyer for 1 season to pass on some much needed experience to Wildie, Hyde, Moore
2) Adam Blair to give us some much needed go forward and to complement a fit Jarrad Hickey
And finally the launch of a public campaign to prove how stupid the RFL/Superleague would be to turn us down given these facts.
Then I realised that actually that was all a dream and I know about as much as anyone else, not much .................... until Wednesday

| I'm not sure that "we'll play in either this ground or that ground, whichever gets built first", would suit many in the RFL, given our past with undelivered stadiums. What I am surprised at is that there have been no announcements from the RFL about anything, such as an expanded league, because one of my thoughts was that the meeting was timed to follow an RFL announcement and was related to future investments. As there have been no announcements from the RFL, I assume that we are just pitching what we hope will keep the RFL sweet, which means that it could all mean nothing in the end.
As an aside, I would not want to be in the top flight if we were there because some rich backer said, "I'll give you money to allow us to stay in," which is the gist of what an earlier poster said. It would be ironic if we said it, but we would slate it if someone else did it.

I can't see anything like that happening- just imagine the law suits that the club, the rfl and the other person involved would face fromthe relgated club(s).
As much as a lot of people like to think that the RFL make thngs up and decide things on a whim- it they acted outside of the agreements in place with all member clubs it would be to there downfall

To be fair to the RFL, I think everything they do is carefully thought out and in accordance with their policies, namely to spread the greatest sport on the planet. This is an admirable aim. All the things they have done, like introducing franchising and agreeing to overlook indiscretions of expansion clubs, is consistent with this (for example, if we had gone into administration before Crusaders, there would have been no concession that administration doesn't count against you). What people take issue with is the extent to which this is perceived to operate unfairly against teams who are not expansion clubs.
As a point of interest in relation to Quins and rugby league in London, I would like to see a poll of rugby league participants in the London area as to which club they follow, as I suspect a lot follow the game because of the exploits of the northern clubs, not Quins. Did they get interested after seeing a Wire-v-Saints game, for example, or because they heard there was a club within fifty miles?

| I was there the last time we made an annoucement that would change the clubs fortunes and that heralded the short and imploding [i"Pearman era". [/i
I sat there and bought that hook, line and sinker and look what happened. If it had not been for Ted Richardson (whatever we may think of him now) we would have disappeared down the pan.
I really hope this is a new dawn and not yet another false dawn.
Please be sure to get the news on here quick as I am currently working in Wales.
ps. the people down here have no idea there is a RL club in Wrexham. Most of them don't even consider Wrexham as welsh.

What is the 'other' site for?
I thought our chosen first site was Newmarket, so if we require another site until our first choice is available then surely it would only be (hopefully) a temporary one.
Wednesday evening can't come quick enough for me, it's like being in the dentist's waiting room, not knowing whether it is going to be good news or not so good. Trouble is at the dentist, whatever the news, it always costs me money (or is that WT in the 'bad old' days?)

| Silkwood Park has a huge lot easily big enough for a stadium and way above 800 parking (not enough for the MUGA and educational complexes which were a big selling point of NM to me) but fitted with electrical substation and ready to go.
Only draw back is that it is at present listed as prime for industrial developments. Although if it were a case of re-designation I'm sure the council would be willing to cooperate, they will have to do the same thing for Castleford about WR (with regard to the potential supermarket) even then that run's the risk of a PI- If you thought one of those in 9 months was bad, how would you feel if that came up in the next round? Potential issue-hence the petition- but that's a different story..
I feel that Cedar Court is required for the AV advantages- which is why I feel were in for a display of some kind- a secret planning application about to go in?

You suggest Ted was our savior in this whole sorry saga you are forgetting that Ted was stupid enough to let Pearman get involved in the first place and stupid enough to go out spending money on hospitality boxes and new players before we had seen the colour of Pearmans money.
