Walker wasn’t a bad signing at the time, but renewing Hampshire and bringing in Gigot made him a spare part as he wasn’t as good as either, or Jowitt.

Green hasn’t done much, apart from the odd few games at the end of 2019 and 2021. I don’t think anyone realistically expected him to stay on.

It’s harsh on Greensmith who looks to have done well at Doncaster, but the club’s running with a reduced budget and squad so there was always going to sacrifices made. Unfortunately we need players who are ready now and will do for the next couple of years.

Just Kershaw and Hampshire still out of contract and no news as to next season. I expect Kershaws injury has complicated his situation and Rocky seems to make a habit of deciding his future at the last moment.

Can't see the difference between this player's stats and that of Sadiq Adebiyi, other than he doesn't play prop, he's another very short forward.

He will also cost more and take up a quota spot.

I have no idea if he's any good but at first glance, it's hard to get excited.

He's touted as being the next Paul Gallan so I think he'll do for us.

I’d be very suprised if Magoulias drops out of the NRL, as he’s a decent player and also pretty young. With Cronulla having signed Finucane at 13, I’d be suprised if no other NRL team snaps him up. Wasn’t that long ago that Capewell was linked to us after being unwanted by Cronulla. Within 2 seasons hes become an origin player and won a GF.

The point I’m making is that we’ve signed a very similar player or may have done in SA. Seems like overkill to bring one over from Oz, especially when the British game actually produces a lot of this kind of player.

Although I’m a fan of the universal forward I’m not sure that’s what we should be using the quota for, see my reasons above.

For me a quota player should be special, a player that simply isn’t available in the British game or at least not to us.

Fifita and Tanginoa are great examples. Fifita in particular, not much of an NRL rep yet he clearly gave us something we couldn’t find domestically.

I’m only musing, heaven forbid that anyone took my opinion on players too seriously, in the coach I trust.
