| The story I heard for Smiths transfer fee, and i've no idea if correct, was 150K based on 100K up front and a possilbe extra 50K if it leads to Salford winning some silverware.
So it will be 100K.

If so it certainly will give us something to cheer about whilst Trinity atempt to stave of relegation next year.

| Thanks for that Jack in the box that sounds about right to me. 100k a month, bloody hell. On that estimate the club will require 500k during the closed season , it starts to stack up.
I estimate about 3,000 people attend matches above ST sales so that about £66,000per game. If its 4,000 that would be £88,000, either way not enough to pay the wages and not including everyday costs.

| As I understand it we make about 70k on a good day and as low as 10k on a bad day.
Shows why having the three big home games at the end of the season can make a difference.
A big crowd at the Cas game is essential

It was much lower than that against Catalans apparently.

Doesn't that beg more questions though? Is he saying that there wasn't a problem until November? If that's the case does this mean that the defecit has been run up in 8 months? Who became responsible from November and what was their experience? What, if anything, has happened to that person(s)? That's just on the face of it too.

| The article also makes it abundantly clear that Elston will not be given his (well deserved) marching orders - stating that his "vast knowledge of rugby league" will be essential to the "new leaders". Oh yes. Just how bad do you have to be at your job at WTW to get sacked?
IMHO Carter comes across as a bit shifty in that article, side-stepping any respeosibility about the accounts which he signed off on until recently. And all this "do you want a club or not"...."it's all on your own heads now"... is a bit much, having heard it so often (and so recently) in the past. What on earth has he done up to this point that is worthy of the supporters trust?

| You don't have to trust him to know more people paying more money will help us out.
He isn't explaining quantum physics here.
We don't have enough money for what we have. If we want this level, we need to find the money. if we are happy with lower level, then we don't need as much.

| Sorry, but you're dead wrong. "More people paying more money" will help us out will it? Now forgive me, but I am lead to believe that we have had a dramatic increase in attendees at games this year (which equates to "more people paying more money"icon_wink.gif and yet we are deeper in the than anyone of us would have believed. It's ALL about trust at this stage, and Mr Carter he has done nothing to even explain where any money raised is going.

Elston still being at the club probably has more to do with avoiding another costly legal battle rather than anything else. He also has a 5% stake in the club (gifted or not?).

More people paying less money more like.
In the absence of a sugar daddy its up to the supporters to back the club. If they don't the message is simple.

| Removing a director as an officer of the company is not the same as taking away his shareholding. He will be employed under a directors service contract. Company members can remove a director at any time by ordinary resolution. This does not always have to cost the company a great deal, generally only where the director has been granted a service contract in excess of 5 years (in which case Mr Carter et al would have had to vote to allow this, so its their own stupid fault for allowing it).
I would suggest getting rid of him would have a positive effect on the business (new broom and all that) and also send a message to creditors, suppliers and prospective sponsors that WTW will not be run like a market stall any longer. Al has already made reference to the fact that people he has spoken to will not invest as long as Mr Elston is in the employ of WTW.

Even if he thought you would not be there next year (which I dont think will be the case) do you honestly think he would tell you when they are trying to rake some money into the club. If he said no to that you may as well put the shutters up now.

I don't think consideration to the removal of JE should be purely about it attracting a large investor. What about fans who are looking for real evidence of change before committing to season tickets etc and whilst ever the man who is chiefly responsible gets moved sideways will not be convinced?
Also what about staff who are rumoured to have had to take a pay cut and or may lose their jobs whilst JE keeps his?
As far as his rugby knowledge is concerned what do we need it for? Wasn't it JE who gave out some of the silly contracts you alluded to in your press conference that been the case he is not needed re player recruitment and we have coaching staff for other onfield matters.

Yes I can see that and I know its not a great position to be in, thats why I was amazed when he came out in the media and said what a state you were in. I know that 99% of you on here will all get tickets no mater what happens but thats probbably only about a 1000 so for the other 3000 who bought tickets this year when they were cheap will definatly think twice about buying them now for a decent figure when they have no idea what they will be watching next year.

Just to put your mind at ease :
'Carter says there is no way the club will not start 2014 in Super League and is confident Richard Agar will be able to put together a competitive squad'
Taken from the précis of Michael Carter's statement on the official WT website.
