As I have posted on another thread part of the problem was the woeful defensive positioning of Gleeson which meant Morton had to come in field giveing Hodgson the room he needed to beat him on the outside

Shame on Mike Stephenson for two reasons; the first being his utter lack of understanding of the game and what was happening out on Wakefield Trinity's right wing, where Dale Morton was being left exposed.

The second for making a statement on a live broadcast about a young eighteen-year-old prospect which could be extremely damaging to his confidence and therefore his progress.

I'm all for it being a man's game and if you're good enough you're old enough, except that if he's going to criticise somebody, especially youngster, he should at least try to read the game properly.

Agreed he needs to think first but it won't happen, Maybe Dale can use that to ram back down egg heads throat.

Morton's got the ability, we know this and we've seen it and I've no doubt he'll feature in our squad prominently in future. In retrospect, Tricky's made a very valid point about Gleeson and I don't think it's the first time he's been called on his defence. You have to worry about Morton's confidence playing outside someone who leaves him facing an onrushing two against one overlap time after time. I suppose the most experienced winger would struggle in those circumstances.

You don't hear Stevo bigging up Wakey juniors so much as the likes of Tomkins and Eastmond.

Gleeson is one of if not the worst defensive centre in the league. Its a position we really need to strengthen, that and obviously prop, Bibbs never broke any pots but his size would have been a bit of a bonus tonight

Don't think any extra size would have made the slightest bit of difference tonight! We were murdered by the speed they got the ball out wide and the pace of their backs.

The guile of Robinson and Brown and with Gilmour, Whatuira and Hodgson being given the freedom of the pitch by our defense we were a distant 2nd best.

I'd say the first 40 minutes is the best I've seen from an opposing team since Leeds put 30 odd points on us a few years ago. The difference for me being that Leeds managed to do that on the back of something like an 8-1 penalty count in their favour and some dubious stuff from Ashley Klein. Huddersfield did it all on their own and were almost flawless in the first 40.

After that we were alawys playing catch up and were alaways trying to force the pass to try and get back in the game, again Huddersfield (when they needed to) defended their line and kept us out superbly and you could just see the confidence drain and the anxiety creep in.

Fortunately under John Kear those kind of defeats don't happen that often and hopefully we will see a reaction against Hull KR. Best thing to do with games like that is appreciate how well the opposition played and try and erase our performance from the memory as quickly as possible and hope we can bounce back..

you can train all week but its on the field where it matters and i believe we had one of those days when everything went right, and you had a bad day at the ofice so the scoeline looked totally one sided.. not that i am complaining

it was actually 48-0 at half time, remember it well because it was my son's first game...asked him if he wanted to go watch the whinos after that and he said NO !! only missed 4 games since..poor kid !

god only knows what went wrong, i was praying for them to take 2 points more than once,i cant single one player out ,every one of them deserved the scoreline tonight all i know is that we are £40 out of pocket watching it.,but i know i will still be there the next game,because its what us fans do

We'll all (or most of us anyway) be there next week, were all glutton for punishment (thats rl fans in general not just wakey fans) and we all love our club. tonights gone now its the reaction next week that will show the true charcter of the team. Hopefully the likes of Morrison will take the lead in training and gee the lads up and get them pumped up for next week at hkr. Still got a niggling feeling that something may have happened this week behind closed doors just hope I'm wrong. Same thing happened last year and coinsidently it was against the very same team. Is there a pattern developing here I ask myself?

After watching that shower I doubt Cookie would want to come!! Brough was invisible but then again he didnt have any kind of platform what so ever to work from. Jeffries gettin injured early on really hampered us but I doubt he'd have saved us from shipping in 50.

I just think that the new breed of coaches coming through the Aussie ranks are smarter footy coaches than our's, whether that be the old school like JK or the ones coming through our system like McNamara,McDermott,Agar etc.
They exude a confidence in their methods that we don't. You could not really name one British coach that could walk into a job in the NRL, yet we have their assistants able to come over here and cut their teeth in our top league.
