I go for - Steve Parkin steps out of the shadows and we're shown plans for a new stadium that we'll be sharing with his wendyball team; no waiting for the NM inquiry, no more money worries and a huge leap ahead of our main rivals in terms of showing tangible progress on the stadium issue.

I can see where you are coming from but my wonder is how would a new site be different from newmarket? which could be ready to be built on by next year, a new site would surely only be ready after PP at the same time?

Spoke to the stadium announcer on twitter. He knows what it is an has been sworn to absolute secrecy. Said to him, I don't want any clues on what the announcement is but is it as massive as they are all making out? His reply was yes, quite probably. I haven't got the foggiest and I don't think anyone on here has, it's great that it's all been kept under wraps. Wednesday can't come soon enough, I can't see how it could be anything securing our sl status as that will be revealed in a months time or so and no one knows (though all and sundry have predicted it's us) what that outcome will be. I'm hoping it will be specific details about our franchise application that will make our bid stronger (ie stadium news) and give the powers that be something to really think about, coupled with new investment that could allow us to build a really strong side next season whichever league we may be in.

And with that quote, I agree. Harlequins should be judged on what THEY are doing, not what RUGBY LEAGUE is doing in London. And if Quins were in a division below, in line with Lewis's quote, I do not see that it would make that much effect on how rugby league development in London is going.

Based on the very little information we have I'm going to take a shot at what it is.......Steve Parkin steps out of the shadows and and promises X amount of investment into Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and to the game off Rugby League in general ( in some form or another ), all on the condition that we get another franchise. This will be an announcement to put maximum pressure on the RFL to give us 3 more years. This gives us a good six weeks to get the message out and mount a massive PR campaign. Just a guess but the best one I could come up with.

I see it more of a business negotiation, he wants us in SL, the game wants investment it's not blackmail it's business. Wakefield staying in, is his return on his investment.

In my opinion, it'll be to annouce Steve Parkin joining the board of Spirit 1873 and to invest a vast amount of money. They probably have some good news with regard to NM, but nothing concrete and certainly not anything which will significantly speed up the PI process.

Parkin's involvement is to link up WTW & a football team, as sporting Wakefield with the intention to play out of NM although plans have been drawn up for a new stadium to be based at .............. as a Plan B to satify the RFL. NM to remain the priority!

In the short term, AG has bought BV and will make temporary improvements, and there will be a season ticket offer at heavily discounted price but only for a small period time!

Maybe a massive sponsorship deal with the Clipper Group? And a new signing to be announced?

The stadium announcer can't announce what it is, because I'm betting he doesn't know, it's a bluff to make him look to be in the know. If he knew, baring in mind he's a p/t club worker then how many other people would know and then there would be the world knowing.

Cedar Court may be something to do with expected numbers but my guess its down to facilities. CC is a conference venue and has superb AV facilites, lots better than Cats Bar. My guess is there will be some form of presentation require that will need those AV facilities.

No idea what the announcement is but with with venue and how nothing has leaked, which is how it should be, I'm expecting something pretty good that will please us all. If not I think there is going to be some well brassed off people, me included.

I really think things are on the up but its going to be next season before we see the on field improvements.

Well from what I have been told and what's on this thread maybe not all in the same posts but it is all here, not going to divulge further but certainly reading this thread I think certain people do know as some are quite specific with their predictions, I have no reason to doubt what I have been told and all in all if it is right we will all come away with a big smile on our faces. And it will improve the mood which has descended on us recently.

The thing is he's not just a stadium announcer, yes he's employed part time but Phil is also mc for the evening so I would imagine he'll need to know what's going on in order to present both the event and himself professionally. The guy makes a living out of announcing and has just been registered with pro boxing and has a mma title fight to announce at tonight. It would look very amateur if he didn't really know what was going on, he'll want information in order to prepare some questions and what not for the evening. I'm not saying he knows everything but I'd imagine he'll know at least the basic gist of what's happening.

i think what alot of people need to do is to walk into this meeting/event with a level head and not expect miracles. If we were offered unlimited money and resources would you except it and potetially lose the spirit of the club, ive always seen wakefield as underdogs. awful to see us get beat week in week out, but when we get that win against big teams, (especially leeds!) it makes my year, just like the cas game a few weeks ago. so come what may on wednesday, just being cautious i suppose, cant help it being a wake fan an all!
