| Quote ="little wayne69"First let me say without criticism of the coach every club has suffered this season with covid and the aftermath with players having to stand down because of it plus injuries to players admittedly some clubs worse than others, but I'd just like to point out where you have admitted your no coach and like the rest of us are clueless as to what's going on behind the scenes, and that all we know is what we're told which is very little unfortunately, with all that in mind I fail to grasp your point with your obvious blame of Fifita where you say he owes us, for what exactly? things are only obvious to those that know what the obvious is, one thing I will say about Fifita although we can only draw, unfairly in my mind what's gone on at the club with him, he can't be blamed for the rubbish dished up on the field.'"
Well there are two separate parts to my post ,the first part, which is simply my opinion you understand but, you linked them together . The part re Fifita, quite separate (and believe me there's no bigger fan of DF than me - when he's playing) is based on the well publicised fact that he refused to wear a monitor. Now it may be that he couldn't have played anyway, I don't know but the fact remains he was stood down for refusing to wear the monitor. Petty and not in the interests of the team. That's what I was referring to.

| Certainly the effort was there, but for me the lack of being able to get over the line with our pressure, was the sides undoing.
The worrying stat is that it is now something like 13 wins from the last 40 games, which is 32.5%. Webster won 8 from 30, which is 30%. If you still think he’s doing a great job, than fair enough, but you may want to take those rose tinted specs off.
There may be nothing to really play for, but if this continues next year, and is acceptable, we can look forward to less money, and a very uncertain future

Including two Challenge Cup losses Chester’s last 30 games Vs Super League opposition is 25 losses 5 wins for a win percentage of 16.66%
Within that sequence of 30 games we’ve failed to score in 3 games losing 10~0 v Leeds, 36-0 v Warrington & 58-0 v Catalan.
16.66%

To those who believe Chester is doing a good job the above suggest otherwise because these percentages represents failure. I am sure you agree that we only survived last season by our final day victory and this season we are almost certain to finish in the bottom two.
When all are taken together he is not only failing but failing spectacularly and next season we do not have the luxury of no relegation. There is nothing to suggest he can change his coaching or motivational style so based on the above we have a long next season ahead.

Minor point, but even if we had lost against London, Trinity would've stayed up. Doesn't alter the poor win ratio however. We really need to work on attacking structure and settle on a spine. The good work getting upto that point is wasted by the lack of ideas in the final 20.

Just a point why don’t we after 4 years change our style of play and our shape then, try something different, develop some moves, chase high balls, inside balls, and lift out predictable plays. Look at each game and play to our strengths against the opponents weaknesses and not just the same way, we make it far too easy for teams

If that's what we need to achieve success then why doesn't our head coach realise that? After all he's being well paid to know these things.

| On the subject of us not challenging our opposition with different tactics and seeing as the bloke I asked this of earlier today has run for cover, I’ll ask the same question here.
What did/does Miller create?
He poked his nose through for a try, that was good, it’s something he’s got in his locker. Otherwise what did he do, flashing your way across the face of the defence doesn’t do anything except steal the space from your wide players.
He’s our go to Half so where’s his deft, clever try creating passing game, wheres his show and go, where’s his astute decision making at the line, where’s his great short and long kicking game, where’s the pass that finds the hole in an opposition defence when we’ve had set after set after set camped on their try line?
Sorry but I’m sure he’s a whole hearted bloke who does his best but there’s no end product in terms of creativity and he’s our First Choice Half Back

He does, I read the article in the Express, he wants a organiser, I guess he thought he had that in Brough but replacing an aging Liam Finn with an even older player, sadly, and rather predictably, failed.

I think even diehard supporters of CC want this to happen!
It has to be said that our attack has been lacking creativity since Finn left, some of our attacking play then was a joy to watch . Now it's a joy if it happens at all.
Our defence has been suspect for years to be honest. We've all witnessed wingers being left with two or three attackers running towards them, countless times. Standing waiting for the opposition to run at us is another thing that really bugs me!
Is it that they're not being coached to do those things or that they don't stick to the game plan?

I'll never fathom our often poor line speed even in the first few defensive sets of games when fatigue can't possibly be an issue.

| Sorry if this has been mentioned before
I would be on the phone to Jason Dimetriou I feel he will have seen some pretty decent half backs in the lower leagues that would be a good fit for us

| I don't see the reason for moaning about Miller he does run along the line looking for chinks in the opposition's defence don't see anything wrong with that because if you look so does Jackson Hastings and Blake Austin its the dummy runners and the guys running the angles that open up the defence plus Miller does more tackling than he should for a half back on big forwards most of the time.

| The funny thing is, if you look at comments from other club fans they say we played well and put Wigan under pressure.
Our forum is full of criticism and not positive view of anything....... I don't really get it.

I think it's because our supporters may not be big in numbers PT but they are extremely passionate about our great club. despite improvement, it's another loss and I'm afraid until we get a couple of successive wins under the belt things will continue in the same vein.
I'm sure it would be the same at any other club, god forbid if Saints were in our shoes, they're the biggest whingers in rugby league!

We have lost 24 out of the last 29 v sl clubs and you think supporters who criticise are wrong..i personally try not to esp the cc debate but i do understand why there are many that do and while i wont criticise i also not going to celebrate another defeat like some do

Because there’s no end product from Miller and he doesn’t have as much to his game as other half backs. Yes he’s a fit bloke and looks busy but there’s not a single half back trait in anything he does.
No passing game, no vision, no kicking game, no creativity, he doesn’t open up defences, his decision making is awful when picking his passes, I could go on.
And seriously, you’re comparing Miller with Hastings and Austin?
I’ve nothing against Miller despite not rating him, he’s probably a great bloke who works hard and does his best but he’s nowhere near good enough as a First Choice Half at SL Level.

They don’t watch the dross we serve up week in week out do they
It’s actually 25 losses from the last 30 games v SL opposition, a 16.66% win ratio over 30 games!

| I certainly don't celebrate defeat I'm one of the worst losers ever but some of the posts really annoy me. Players get slagged off whatever number shirt they are cos they can't create can't tackle their too slow too fat too old the coach is crap the backroom staff are useless the conditioner is rubbish need I go on. Maybe its how I perceive these posts but surely there are positives somewhere, and I'm sure some of our players are quite good.

| Well I will answer the question about Miller The reason he does not luck as good as he should is simple Mr Chester should have spent most of this year's budget on a Quality scrum half and hooker to give him more space on the field .The number of times he was hit late be Wigan players .because we had no more options on the park .We are way behind clubs in these position ..Phil Clark said in commentary he through we were the only team in S L that did not use our full back as a extra attacker You can see why Miller does not look as good as he could do .And Clarke comment sums up the coaching for me

It's the inevitable consequence of a terrible win loss ratio that also includes being nilled. I think the point is many of them are quite good, which only compounds the problem
