According to the thread on the Warrington board, Atkins gave them a thumbs up sign when they sang his name during the match.

After tonight i have absolutely no doubt Atkins is signing for warrington.
The way he laughed, almost in an embarrassed way when he first heard the atkins is a wire chants and then a bit later the thumbs up wouldnt have come from a player that hadn't signed.
Its hard to explain, you'd have to have seen it.

i also remember us signing laurie daley and john bentley telling us he was with us next season when he played for leeds neither came off people react to things in different ways he may well have signed but he may also just have been humouring the crowd as dalle cort did last week with the water bottle last week

I hope he reaches his full potential there. I don't think he was going to do it with us, big fish, small pond and all that. Don't think our team performances will suffer.

Not me pall, i said we were in negotiations to sign him, he wanted to come and that Wakefields terms were not agreable to Wigan due to the nature of the cash plus players.

If he goes then so be it. It'll be a deal which suits us as he is under contract and i have faith in Kear and the board. Atkins himself hasn't developed as most would have hoped and it'll probably be a deal that suits both parties.

I'm sure we'll bring in better or at least someone who will give 100% and take the opportunity with open arms

I'm not normally one for whispers and rumours but I'm led to believe (perhaps foolishly or otherwise) that in order to compete with other clubs' offers we've had to improve the deal of just one of Danny Brough and Ryan Atkins... so we'd only get to keep one of them.

If thats the case we have kept the right one!
