I have been told more or less that some new money is coming. I haven’t been told how much.
Given the position we are in, which is near certain relegation. At least on League position I can’t see the need for millions straight away, though it would be nice. I don’t think you’d find many willing to invest huge sums right now.
What makes me laugh, and I suspect you and the smarter posters on here have worked this out. Despite what the trolls say Carter still pumps large amounts of cash into the club. When he leaves that will stop! These haters just don’t seem to get this. The financial hole will be enormous.
If we can find another MC to plug that gap in the short term we will have done well.
There is an old saying, you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.
If it’s any consolation I get no feedback from MC anymore, I’m not sure he likes me all that much. But that doesn’t mean I can’t see what he does and has done, he’s fundamentally saved the club. So much so that after 25 years of flirting with relegation at least if it happens this time we can survive - it was a death sentence until the last two seasons.'"
Why should the financial hole be enormous unless he plans to take his investment back whatever that actually is. I wonder how do you know he pumps large sums of money because he stated from the outset and even prior to the Hull game that he could not do this and that any expenditure came from what the club generated.
The reason we have been flirting with relegation is down entirely to the club’s lack of investment in the playing squad culminating in the debacle that is this season. He had a chance to build a legacy just a few seasons ago but opted to let the balance sheet rule hence we were at that time the only club to run with a profit.

I believe that the vast majority of fans have appreciated the policy of letting the balance sheet rule mainly because we got sick of seeing us nearly die at least three times during our Super League era.
When you're dead, you're dead.

He also stated in his statement about the resignation, that the club were in debt to the tune of £2m, and that he has invested £2m into the club. To me that would indicate that the money he has put into the club was right at the start. Even more so, considering he'd put money in before taking over.
Whether the £2m is correct, for me is open to debate, and we will never know, but I do have reservations about one of those £2m comments.

Well you're certainly right with you don't know what you have until it's gone.....applied to Miller, Fifita, Arona, Batch, TJ......replaced with in essence, Smith, Atoni, Proctor, Taufua etc. Not really surprising we are struggling is it.

Even if we make a break we don't get far.
A Mason Caton-Brown would be nice'"
I've had this conversation with you before! I don't get the point of having fast wingers the way we play? We create virtually no overlaps in most games, because the speed we need is from dummy half, and at half back. The players in those positions are too slow, that's a big reason why we are struggling to create anything other than Ashurst crashing over now and again. TJ was a different animal to Murphy say, he could break the line from his own half, then his pace and agility would take over, he didn't really need space to be created for him because he is a freak. Murphy showed he could finish acrobatically last year given the chances, this year if he had played every game so far, I doubt he would have more than 2 or 3 tries to his name. We have no threequarters who can create something out of nothing, and the players inside aren't creating any half-chances hardly either, so it's no surprise we can't score!
The only longshot we have is if Gale and then Jowitt can create overlaps, and then if the wingers can take those chances, if they can't, but if we are creating, then I would agree with you that we need faster wingers!!

| I don't believe a word Carter says and I never have. He's very good at spin, very good at playing the victim, playing the sympathy card and splitting the fan base . Hopefully not too much longer till he walks out of the door cause I dread to think the state were going to be in if this deal collapses.

Because that’s money no longer available, unless someone else fills it, pretty obvious really. In SL maybe not so bad but in the Championship!
Also he’s an unpaid CEO, what makes you think we can get another one of those? JM can’t do it he has other commitments as far as I’m aware.
For a decent CEO what would that cost?

You can blame age for two of those, chance of silverware for one, and the previous coach for one.
I agree though as regards Miller and Aydin from what I hear.
Doesn’t change the point, everyone hated Ted at the end but look what replaced him, actually forgotten his name.

Yep that deal was so close to happening, who knows how it would have ended up. It was pretty much signed sealed and delivered, he just wanted a guarantee from the RFL that we would receive a franchise and TBH the rightly at the time would not do that.

So I was living overseas when Glover was running the joint - I mean, did it all start well with him and he just got out of control with being the big man about town or was it always doomed from the start?
He can clearly make, sell and maintain windows and conservatories, so business doesn’t seem alien to him, or is it businesses that don’t make profit where he came unstuck?

Think at the time there were nearly as many people getting in free as we’re paying ,so crowds looked decent but I don’t think he had much idea how to run a RL club . Remember it well getting hoodwinked like a lot of fans to a meeting at cedar court for some great news , I was in the second wave to be told of a share scheme or the likes , total spin . But the best of all was the Pearman debacle ,who ride into town like a knight in shining armour throwing his false money and promises about like confetti . A team of superstars were assembled and then the inevitable cheques started to bounce and the rest is history as they say . Could only happen to Wakey
