What he is, bar his goal kicking, is in my opinion a poor rugby player.

Foster has been reasonably well regarded at each place he has been.
If he is in the top coupls of goal kickers he is worth carrying to me if he isn't perfect.

Bradford fans liked him at full back too.

We are not exactly blessed with wingers so I'm not sure we can be that choosey.

Just wonder If the carvell situation is being seen as a test case? If hes allowed to walk for nothing or next to nothing it might be Open season on any Bulls player not happy or totally convinced by their new regime. Wonder If the players we might be getting in are to do with this.

He is in the same mould as Kevin Penny (although not as quick)
He knows where the try line is but, his defence was his main downfall.
Do we really want a winger with such defensive "baggage".
Although there is no doubting his kicking ability, the cost coming the other way, may be too much.
Having said that, we are where we are and there are limited options and little time to be too choosy.

I don't see Foster's defensive frailties as a problem given the propensity of Trinity's threequarters to barely lay a finger on the opposition winger as they score outwide. His conversions would be of benefit though.

If I had the choice I'd have a slower strong runner with good defense but I can't see us getting one.

On the Carvell situation, is it not very much like the Tuson circumstances, in that Carvell signed for a club that had sold him a vision that quite clearly was a lie. Unlike us, Bradford have shyed away from doing the morally correct thing and haven't offered Carvell the chance to leave.

With regard to where we will get our 3 or 4 new players from, the obvious place is Odsal but there's also the possibility that Bradford players going to other clubs will displace a player who may then look for a move.

I believe Addy had agreed to sign for us but like Tuson he was given the chance to go and sign where ever when our financial difficulties were revealed.

We had agreed terms with both Danny Addy and Jamal Fakir only for the Elston circus to roll into Town and we had to give back word to both players who then resigned for their clubs on reduced terms due to it being so late.

Foster is lucky he can kick goals. Ainscough is a better winger and RL player in every other facet of the game.

Such a ridiculous short term decision to increase the non-fed limit and revert back to the loopholes that existed prior to when the quota and non-fed limit was set a five.

The 'quota' is effectively defunct due to all the possible exemptions allowed, Siejkas polish passport been a good example. I believe neither Tautai or Godinet count as 'quota' due to their pacific island heritage. Its all about non-federation trained these days, which the level has incresed to seven overall. As we stand we have Collis, Tautai, Godinet, Ryan, Anderson and probably Siejka on that list. So oom for one more if we had the funds. Now rumours are that Sammut is available.........

Just because we have a place available does not mean we have to fill it. Unfortunately this is the awful effect of having relegation again. Too much short term thinking. We were just starting to see good youngsters come through, but I fear they won't as a coach will go for an experienced overseas player rather than take a risk
