| Throughout this game Wakefield Trinity completely outplayed the Leeds rhinos in every department, beginning with a level of enthusiasm and confidence that the Rhinos just couldn't match. Trinity then set about exerting their dominance in the forwards with Shane Tronc and Michael Korkidas constantly driving into the hearts of the Leeds forwards, making ground and offloading the ball to eager supporting players.
Wakefield's back row of Jason Demetriou, Glenn Morrison and Tevita Leo-Latu where extremely lively with the ball in hand whilst being everywhere in defence shutting out any threat that Leeds may offer.
Halfback pairing Danny Brough and Ben Jeffries dished out a lesson in halfback play to their more auspicious counterparts in the Leeds team. In the case of Danny Brough, he gave a masterly display of scrum-half artistry that the likes of Rob Burrow can only dream of.
Even when forced into restructuring the three-quarter line with the loss of Luke George, leaving Wakefield with just three interchanges, they still ably coped with the Leeds Rhinos three-quarter line.
There will be much said about the referee's performance, especially by the Leeds faithful, but for most rugby league fans this was justice which has been a long time coming. Anyone who is not a Leeds fan or player will tell you that the Rhinos have been getting away with blue murder at the play the ball, with forward passes and with back chatting to the ref.
I'll qualify my comments here by stating that I have slaughtered a couple of referees already this season, one from a game where Wakefield were'nt involved and the other from a game that Wakefield won. Therefore this isn't the case of a fan backing a referee just because his team got the points, well done to the referee for not being intimidated by the badge on the shirt or the player who was wearing it.
My faith in the officials slightly restored!
[size=150Well done Wakefield Trinity![/size

| Great game - hope the extra fans will stay and come back for the Shudds game.
Tronc is simply outstanding, takes at least 3 to stop him, then he pops up with the offload and their defenders are all hanging on him so bags of room to make yards.
Brough again was class, attack and defence - totally commited performance as per usual.
Henderson ran his blood to water, and Millard had a great game as well.
Was bricking it towards the end, when Leeds "click" they just look unstoppable, but we capitalised on their errors and ill discipline and punished them.
Shame I got work tomorrow, or it'd be party party party!

| I took my wife today for the 1st time since 1986, maybe she can come again.
Superb display by the whole team, but, D.B. – he really stepped up to the mark, also, I know he gets a lot of stick on here, but, today Hendo played out of his skin.
I was also worried about the choice of ref, but, for once, someone stood up to the whining trio of Sinfield, McGuire & Diskin – well done Mr Childs.
Thank you to all the players & staff, for getting that monkey off our backs.

| Its been an odd sort of weekend here in Sydney... I was driving back from a team bonding event by the Hawkbury River, when the external temperature reading maxed out at 43 degrees... at about tea time the first rains hit and then (for several hours) the heavens opened.... dotted amongst the deluge were summy spells which really pushed up humidity... the Sharks lost the pre season trial against Manly.... again in a deluge of water... yesterday there was more downpours... (but we finally got the Dr Who xmas special on local TV... then at about 0400 I was woken by the almightiest of storms..... it just happened to be about the same time that the Trinity Leeds game was drawing to a close... so - breifly - I considered getting up and listening.... I woke up again at 0600, bordering being late for my train, but I lost al;l sense of time when I read the result... resulting in me running for the train... in the rain!...
now its 40 degrees again and very very sunny!
all this is a round about way of saying
WELL DONE TRINITY!!!

| Great effort, great performance. Feared the team would run out of steam in the later stages of the match given the hard work they put in the first three quarters. Leeds performance was very much like last years, very petulant and ill disciplined. Webb was lucky not to be sent off given what happened to Brough the last time Childs was the man in the middle at BV.
First time I’ve seen Trinity beat Leeds and to be honest I thought it would never happen. Even after Millards try I had a feeling of inevitability that Leeds would undeservedly snatch it late on, and feared the worst when Donald squeezed in those two late tries. I’ve never seen Leeds bomb so many try scoring opportunities. They certainly started playing a hell of a lot better once Sinfield got binned. Overall all though I felt Trinity dictated the match and were fully worth the two points.
The most pleasing aspect was that a near full house saw the team win. More often then not Trinity flatter to deceive in such circumstances, resulting in many of the casual support to not coming back.
