Full credit to Widnes for their performance tonight. Job done for Wakey without getting in to any sort of stride but not comfortable viewing at 12-6. Handling errors all over the shop

Again we’ve just got the win and that’s all we need to keep doing for now. 8 days rest and more bodies back next week. Koppy and Jowitt the stand out performers for me tonight. Again liking the look of Kershaw, great finish and real handful when ball in hand.

They had a strong kicking game and played to the end

I was really pleased for the lads we got through to the quarters, they really deserve it for all the effort prior to this game and playing so busted too
I imagine Chester told the lads to keep the intensity low and getting through with no injuries was as important as winning

For a Friday night in what should have been a comfortable victory for Trinity, it wasn't a bad crowd.
However, £10 was too cheap. It should have been £15 advanced and £18 on the day.

Nobody wants to pay more than they have to but £10 to watch a SL side in undervaluing the game, although it did seem like the players only wanted to give us a tenner's worth of entertainment, especially in the first half.

I know that the saying goes "you only get what you pay for" but, we were awful for 65/70 minutes.

When is the draw for the next round ?

The draw will take place on Sunday following the Warrington Wolves v Wigan Warriors game on the beeb

North stand looked decently occupied, thought we might see a few more travelling fans but they’ve had / got some expensive big days just happened/happening.

Considering how small our crowd was, I reckon the travelling Widnes fans deserve a medal. It was a decent sized group.
It's a long way, especially on Friday night to a ground that isn't attractive, against a team you are expecting to lose to. Credit to them.

Or a chance to take a SL scalp ??
Although 2nd bottom, due to their points deduction, they are going quite well in The Championship and 150 ish fans isn't great.

Hats off to the faithful band of Widnes fans who came across. Think their team did them proud and 12-6 would probably been a fairer result.

Thought Kirmond had a good game last night and he must've been gutted when Jowitt dropped that pass following Danny's 1st clean break in about two years.

It was a diabolical following from us I thought, for numerous reason, but there was no chance of a SL scalp.

From your own fans admittance you were far from your best, we were very good and yet you still won by 20 points.

We've had it a few times this season where we have a devastating 10-15 minute session in the 2nd half where we run in 3-4 tries. Up until that point, Widnes were a very good match. I don't know if there was ever a risk of you taking the scalp, but it was an enjoyable game for a lot of reasons

I spoke to several widnes fans and they were all in good humour, there might not have been many, but I'm not going to knock those who made the effort to come

I'd normally say leave the kicking to the kickers, but a try rate of 100% from kicks through is something most halves can only dream of

Even if it never works again it puts uncertainty in the opposition and as you say it’s impossible to defend against.

Spirited effort from Widnes and sub-par from us, made that a bore-fest for 70 minutes; the last 10 minutes lifted it - and created a flattering scoreline.
