So what's the alternative do nothing, I am not in a position to tell people what to do but I know I want to fight and do something so if putting £2 a week (less than a pint) into this club 1873 may help then I will do it, this is my club and I intend to show, like all the people who showed up tonight, that I ain't going down without a fight.
Easy to sit back and poor scorn, a lot harder to actually try and do something about it.

It was just about what I expected last night let’s get real we were never going to get an announcement that Newmarket was going to be built next year or Silkwood Park.
I will support the membership scheme because without it we are dead in the water
Maybe a tad disappointed that the big investment from a 3rd party is not coming in but then again will it ever unless we get Newmarket?
The announcement ref Belle Vue is good Will this go ahead if we lose our licence in July I doubt it, it would be a waste of money if the move to Newmarket was still on.
The biggest fear is if we lose our SL licence I for one could not see us getting back in 2015 maybe ever Newmarket or no Newmarket.

Maybe because Glover believed the 'bluff and bluster' of the stay aways who were going to come back in their droves if/when Ted left. He offered a fantastic deal on silver memberships and still they wouldn't buy into the club therefore he has had to come back to those of us who have already contributed. Now it's up to you who you choose to blame for the fact that we don't have 5,000 members but Andrew Glover is way, way down that list if he's on it at all.

As an outsider i can understand how you feel. What i have picked up is that regardless of what / will wont happen and whether it will affect you getting a franchise there is something else going on.
What Glover seems to be doing in possibly the only way that he can is to give the fans some hope, develop a fighting spirit, increase fan participation and develop some community spirit.

Additionally it is trying to sort the club out financially and give you the strength to survive in whatever division you end up in.

If half of what Glover is offering comes off then at least you will survive if you go down and then have the chance to come up in 2015 and there is still the outside chance that it may persuade the RFL to give you another chance of a franchise at this time.

This would seem to be as much about the long term future of the club as it is in the short term. At least it looks like you will not be going to Oakwell and will be staying at Belle Vue or at best if NM comes off you will be going there..

Maybe you haven't noticed that all season we have been trying to push Silver memberships etc almost to the point of giving them awaywhen you look at the offers that have been made available
e.g. Get a silver membership for £10 and then get your Harlequins ticket for £10 - or pay £20 to get in (to me that is a no brainer - it is a free silver membership)
and yet all those so called stay-aways that wouldn't come when Ted was in charge still stay away

AG and JE have been trying to push memberships all season and the people of Wakefield have not come forward in sufficient numbers despite saying they would if Ted was to leave. Now our backs are to the wall and we have to do something and do it quick.

It's a personal choice but I'd rather have a pint less a week and put that money into trying to retain our Super League status - let's just hope there are other sufficient numbers who feel the same.

You hoodwinked yourselves. SWAG, the old regime and the new have all learned one thing - NM is the key and without it we are just treading water. That said and given the limited options I think they have done their best.

I personally like the stopping at BV though logistically Oakwell was better. I fel once a club leaves it's home and becomes another clubs tenant they are nomadic. This is OK if it is only temporary - but as we have seen things never go to plan. Whatever happens IMO staying at BV until NM happens is a must.

I said in an earlier post these meetings usually involve a begging bowl and this did in a way, but I'm not annoyed as perhaps AG is owed one shot at that.

Those (and there were many) claiming you heard it here first knowledge of Steve Parkin and co stepping in have made absolute fools of themselves. Give your heads a shake and smell the coffee.

I've said it umpteen time, Trinity have been a bankrupt club since the 1970's. You can scapegoat Ted or Rodders or even AG if you wish but the horrid truth is that no one including AG will throw real money at this club until we are at NM. It's been like that for 30 years. AG has offered to speculate on a SL franchise, I don't think we can ask for much more right now.

I think a SL approved Belle Vue is better than NM, but only if the terraces are made steeper, as the view for teens and kids is terrible. NM is just so bloody far from built up areas that if we have a poor run crowds may get terrible. I think we just get a bit envious of stadiums like the KC etc and forget just how unsuitable NM is.

I have to laugh it the child like nature of this post. So five month in and with only one side of the story you consider this board any more honest than the last - on what evidence exactly.

We had all the same meetings 10 - 20 -30 years ago and nothing happened.

If he delivers this, and he's delivered on almost everything else he will be one step ahead of the dissapointers of the past.

The difference is between then and now is that they listen to the fans, they are delivering what the fans want, the fans have to appreciate their part to play in this, and they are trying to mobilise the support.

Unlike in the past, just pi$$ing off the supporters, who in turn stopped supporting the club and hey presto we stop giving the tax man his dues.

Driving through Cas this morning looked in my rear view mirror and saw smoke in the wake, I thought it was Hicksons then realised it has closed down, the smoke was deffo on Weldon Road it reminded me of the Vatican wonder what all this smoke and my mirror was telling me should be an entertaining few weeks of media ping pong in the District.

that said where does if what AG plans comes off leave the likes of Salford, new ground yes but can they touch Cas and Wakey on the pitch over the last 3 years no!

The reason i asked was because, even the most loyal Ted follower, could not have been more impressed by the passion and commitment shown by AG and JE in particular, i know you're far too clever to trust such a pitch

, but it really was impressive.
Of course what matters now is them following up and delivering those words, we've all heard far too many empty ones over the years, but added to the period of fire fighting followed by the period of "cosmetic" and real improvements, we now seem in a position where we are visibly trying to push the club forward.
It all hinges on a SL licence, but our chances have gone from 0% to 50% in a few months, so that can't be bad, but we all need to buy (no pun intended) into it.
