I don't agree. Our tactics allow our backs to play like they do. It's not off the cuff.

| I can't just shrug that one off - it was bloody awful! Wherever a decision was to be made, we unerringly made the wrong one - and the inability to change tactics in the 2nd half when the weather fined up a bit was just baffling. It was almost as if someone had made a decision to freeze Johnstone out of the game on purpose - he was nothing more than a skinny prop for 90% of that game, which is just criminal.
Negative, amateurish and after a complete performance at Leeds last week, inexplicable.

I agree with everything you say it’s frustrating but what’s done is done hope they learn from it, the decision making was terrible.

Agreed
How many repeat sets did we manage 2 ?
And as for "creating" anything, the less said the better, we were bloody awful.
Defensively we went well but with ball in hand it was as bad as it gets.

| Just wondering why Chris Chester has looked time and again at the grounding for Johnstone's try frame by frame and says nothing was wrong.
Had it been a TV game and a video ref they wouldn't have got as far as the grounding. Johnstone's effort was disallowed for putting a foot on the touchline before launching himself and the touch judges flag immediately went up.

Result/performance aside for a second, Johnstone`s try was a perfectly good try, again 3 officials all within 1 to 2 metres of the ball on the ground, each with different angles and they cannot get it right? Picked up on it with the Catalans game finish, was given up as a no try so if there was no screen it would have been just disallowed straight away. Great piece of skill discounted all because of incompetent refereeing, also strange how not one of them spotted the clear knock on in the build up to the KR try?
Don`t think we deserved to win that game, thought we were poor and they looked the team more likely to score the whole game, but if the officials had got those calls right we probably would have come away with the 2 points.

What had the ball on the ground have to do with it if his foot had previously been in touch?

Not too sure if you realise this but if they are within 1 or 2 metres of the ball on the ground then they are also within a few metres of his foot also, close enough to realise that his foot had not gone into touch, would you agree?

| Oh dear. Tom Johnstone had his foot on the white line before he jumped for the ball and you cannot jump from out of the field of play to catch a ball. It was a no try because Johnstone’s foot was in touch before even catching the ball, can’t explain it any clearer than that.

| I was at the game but In the worst position in the stadium to judge what had happened and i assumed that’s what had happened by what people are saying. Now just watched the Highlights and it looks a good bet that his left foot hit the touchline as he jumped with the ball.

On the highlights, you can see that his left foot leaves a divot as he leaps, but there does not look to be any touchline involved. I accept it's very difficult though when it is so quick. On the one against Catalan, he looked nailed on to be in touch, until the replay showed otherwise.

Linesman didn't hesitate to put his flag up, he's looking straight down the line with a perfect view. I'll accept that - otherwise there's no point in having officials, and without them there's no RL.

I agree.
The knock-on was more difficult to accept because we were still ahead at that point and it was clearly a knock-on. But having said that, we didn't deserve to win. It's hard to criticise a defence that lets in just one try, but our attack was poor.
When it was 4-4, I remember thinking about the prospect of golden point that it was a game neither side deserved to win.

We had a "try" disallowed against salford, the in goal judge gave it,the referee from behind play called it off.Salford tapped on the 20 and scored 22-18 instead of 28-12,with 15 mins left.Tomkins got a 2 match ban for calling him a cheat, whether you like him or not, there was no reason to overule the in goal judge who had the perfect view.Video should be used at every game imo.Good luck for the rest of the season.

| I was in the stand right in line with him.
As soon as he came down I said it was no try.
I had an unrestricted view from higher up so I'm pretty confident with my opinion.

| One thing is 100% certain - the try was not disallowed because of the grounding so why is Chris Chester wasting his time looking frame by frame and complaining that Johnstone got it down?

Even some Wakey supporters say his foot was in touch. I cannot disagree with your logic but the linesman indicated his foot was in touch. As you say he had the best view. Even if you were there your view was not as good as his. Why should your opinion be accepted as right when you had a more limited view than the linesman?
On this occasion you lost, get over it and stop blaming others for your team's shortcomings.

| The reason we lost the game wasn't because of Tom's disallowed try.
I think we were second best on the day.
We have to learn how to win these games.
It's all been said - wrong call on kickable penalties, defence sitting and waiting to be hit (When will we learn on that one!)
We have two of the best finishers in SL but seem clueless how to get them away.
I give up.

| Lets face it, we are a fair weather team, that's not to say we can't adapt but its obviously not our forte.
If you accept that, then its not beyond the wit of man to accept the likelihood that the odd game may be decided on a coin toss.
That's the way it is.
We've made a good start on a nice end of season list of games we lost by a gnats knacker, I dunno if I want a 5h1t or bust list instead..
Hull next week, s'pect they'll be turning the AC on and watering the pitch about now...lol.

| I just watched the Trinity TV replays which are from a different angle to the Sky highlights.
I gotta say at the game I had no idea what had happened in either incident, I thought Toms body language was that it wasn't a score and that Maguires was just a high ball bit of luck.
Turns out its more likely than not Toms was a score and that very definitely, Hall batted the ball backwards in to Linnets face which then went forward.
Anyway, it yesterdays news and todays chip paper, the no vid ref turned out to be lucky for HKR, next week it could be us with HKR getting the bum deal, can't have it all ways.
Vid refs should be at all games, the officials cannot be expected to make the correct call every time in situations like that without.

| I wouldn’t say one team was better than the other yesterday, it was simply a toss of the coin who won that game imho.
As it goes we have more ball in better positions but all it took was one kick from KR to win the game.
Have to agree with Chester though the speed of the ruck was laughable.
Tough games to take them, I don’t think many other teams would have done any better in those conditions.

| that's it coach blame the ref...
does it take the heat of him an the absolute clueless attack we have indie the 20? its been the same for 3 years...
but now we are not scoring the long range tries we have the last couple of years which glossed over the above....
hopefully when the sun comes out over there are speed gets us scoring tries again..
