| The grief at Pita's loss on the NWARRIORS.COM site is palpable.
As I predicted this morning in My earlier post the Fans are crying foul over his loss to us.
I've read many a post about the ESL converts who don't show up from the NRL and they are justified.
Let me assure you Pita Godinet is not one of those players who struggles to fit in and isn't worth the ink on the contact.
I'll tell you a little story about Pita that sums this guy up.
As I said before his problem has been playing on the fringe of big name franchise players for a half back role.
Godinets response to being a third string half was to out train the entire Squad.
He didn't stop there , Pita knew he was a chance of getting some minutes as a utility 14. off the bench.
To prove to the Coaching staff that his small frame was up to hooking.....he asked Ruben Wiki ( recently retired Ex Prop and all round hard man ) to help him.
Pita and Ruben came up with a tackle training scenario as follows :
After regular team training finished , Pita asked Ruben to sprint at him time and again to prove he could front on defend against the NRL props.
That's what got him a foot in the door this year in first grade for that string of games at hooker.
His Tackling was sound and as a result he is the kind of driven tough nut Half back most traditionalist rugby league fans look up to.
As I say , don't take my word for it, watch the raves come in about this guy from the broader fan base, he is one tough cookie who has had to fight for every scrap of recognition in his career...ergo any suggestion that he won't make the most of an opportunity in the E.S.L doesn't apply to Pita.
One humble human being.

| Great signing. After all the earlier despair i think your new management has done an absolutely outstanding job of rebuilding the squad whilst managing the club finances in a realistic manner.
Best of Luck for the new season

| Well I'd do hope this lad can settle in quick as we could end up with another Isaac John situation, I watched the 8 min video and there wasn't anything there to show that he has the talent to light up super league, so I don't expect to do anything too fancy
From what mt smart has praised him on here sounds like a very astute signing which is very pleasing being in mind how we was 3 months ago.
It is a shame that we have to look away from our own heartland to find talent that is worthy of put on the red white and blue shirt so I hope he comes and play with the pride as if it was his home.
Welcome to Wakefield Pita

| Great news for Wakefield but from the outside looking in its surprising.
It was only a couple of months ago that the chairman said the club were 400k in debt and yet the club has assembled a squad that is certainly on a par with last year.
Terrific on the playing side, have you had any updates on the financial side?

Common misconception - we had a 400k shortfall until the SL Cheque/new ST sales arrived and a number of outstanding CCJ's.
Just like all SL clubs we are probably still in debt for well more than 400k but we now have a realistic budget that we are I assume within and thus can service our debts and function as a club.
The recruiting side has been outstanding which I can't really explain

I think it says more about what the club were paying the likes of Smith, Poore and Mellors (maybe Aiton and Amor too) than anything else. Getting higr earners off the books, and getting a transfer fee in some cases, has helped no end. Not to mention I think there has been some negotiation with creditors who are able to hang fire on their debt.

| Seem to remember that right from the outset MC said that the club had a 400k shortfall and that players were likely to leave in order to balance the budget but as the season ticket sales increased then any surplus money would be spent on player recruitment.
Seems that MC was being brutally honest with the fans but has also stuck to his word with regards to player recruitment as the financial worries were eased.
He has now put together a squad that is starting to look really exciting and competetive and all within a sensible operating budget.Hats off to the guy and the rest of the management team for doing such a fantastic job.

| The 400K is/was an amount to club have/had to shave off the outgoings so the club can/could survive in SL without going into administration again (which wasn't an option) - not to be confused with year end losses or total outstanding debt.
I should imagine all will be revealed when WTW submit their accounts for 2012.

There certainly does seem to be a little bit spite creaping into the few Cas fans who post on this forum. Thinly disguised digs such as the above seem to have coincided with the improvement to the Trinity squad. Strange eh?

| It's a very promising signing but Godinet has been predominantly a reserve grade player who they've attempted to convert into an NRL hooker. I can only imagine that he would have cost a fraction of what Tim Smith was on. The same can be said for Scott Anderson like for like replacing Justin Poore and Matt Ryan replacing the import place of Paul Aiton.
It seems on paper that some very shrewd business has been done by WTW management and Agar. We'll see what the season brings...

I'm sure you'll know before we do - Bigalf will post them on the nutjob forum just as soon as they hit Companies House, in line with the new and rather desperate lows that other place has sunk to in recent months.

That place has hit an all time low this week after a poster referred to Koolkash as parading as a pimp with his hoes, all because he was seen at a press conference with his new players
Regrading our new signing, I'm liking what I hear on their forum and from Mt Smart, to think I was going to settle for Liam Finn. It does seem for clubs like ours that the best time to recruit from the NRL is at the back end of the year. You seem to have a lot of players that have hung on hoping to secure a new contract but fall short. For lack of a better saying you have a fair few desperados that don't want to drop down to reserve grade. The best career move at this point for these players is to come over here and try to re-establish themselves, a club on a limited budget like ours is ideal for such players.

| Godinet looks very good at the footage for RLWC and other stuff that I've managed to see him on.
Could be one of the signings of the season for Super League.
Very lively running with the ball in hand and bringing players in to run off him plus unlike T.Smith he can tackle! He topped the tackle count against New Zealand with over 40 tackles playing hooker. Agar and MC are to be applauded.
