"Giving" memberships away gratis, probably isn't the right thing to do as far as our franchise is concerned.
Presumably the club has some "agreement" with the WE, with regards to some kind of remuneration, otherwise the "need" for members becomes a futile exercise.
This deal should be enough for any right minded supporter, not currently a member to become one.
I agree that that if pos they should be available right up to K.O off on Sunday, I think however the deal was to run until the 9th.

As much as I agree with you on the non supporters aspect, this is not solely about them, this is about collecting members to tick a franchise box as I understand it, and that would be easier done (collecting 5000 members) from the existing support.
I think Saturdays event will be aimed more at mopping up the remainder from the former supporters and man and women from the street.
My OP was aimed more at the clubs inability to give the memberships away FWIW, this would be as ridiculous as my take on clubs inflating their poor attendances by giving tickets away.

Does anyone know if the 5,000 members they're aiming for need to be unique members, or can people get multiple memberships (should they choose to/ have the money to) and still count towards the total?

well if it goes on numbers on membership cards we seem way short got mine today and it was 0699 so mr glover must be banging his head against a brick wall as to why the people of wakefield arent backing the scheme seems to me we are over 4,000 short hope im wrong and the numbers are randomly selected and we have sold a lot more

The numbers are random, it was quoted last week the club need another 2k to reach the target.

Although I live in France my son got me a silver membership as well as one for himself.
A great idea and well worth it even though I can only get to a few matches.
