Tend to agree, Hood had a stinker but so did they all.

| Hood has looked gassed for the last two weeks, and is struggling at the moment. I suspect that he is not 100% fit and it is showing.
Agreed, he is a good for us usually but this break is overdue.
Battye is in the same position

| Hood is not the panacea we hoped for at hooker ,he may be a solid player but nothing special from what I’ve seen ,doesn’t have the speed of thought or movement to step up IMO . Looking at the likes of old man Roby or Parcell or most other hookers in the game that make their teams tick ,he’s off the pace .I’d go so far as to say Kyle would still do a better job. Watching the Kelepi/Crowther rumpus develop,my pennies worth is Kelepi is playing at 50% of his ability and Crowther is always up around 80% of his , when our team on a whole playing up to their potential we are capable of holding our own ,but drop off and we get scorelines that do us no favours . This isn’t a Kelepi bagging post ,just that he certainly isn't IMO playing to his potential, but then again we had this with big dave not so long ago . You have to look at Arona and say that he may not be a world beater but he is mr consistent the odd brain fart aside and has been full value for his contract

| Think has already been said that for Trinity to compete they have to have their best 17 on the pitch playing at their best as there’s little strength in depth especially in the pack.
As a result there may be more blow out scores like today during the season…

Nothing to do with strength in depth, it’s attitude in depth.
These are just feeble excuses, there are plenty of teams in the same boat as us but they don’t fall to pieces every time some one is out.

You surely must work for the club? How can anyone be happy with a hooking partnership of a young academy lad being thrown in to a team struggling or a winger being converted to a hooker because we've not got any other option. I don't mind Kay at Hooker - as a stop gap! Imagine if Leeds started consistently playing Handley at hooker just because he did alright there. Or St Helens with Makinson. People would themselves. Yet you're happy with that and a lad with little super league experience who is still physically not quite there for Super League as your pairing. Boggles my mind. Hood is steady away but not great. We probably have the worst hooking options in the league. Alongside our prop options.

| The problem is and was always going to be the case that other than Fifita we are too light in the pack and none of our signings reversed this outlook.

Why would me working for the club make that statement any different.
I'll try and write slowly for you.
Hood is my preferred option as he's an experienced hooker and I like how he's played this season up to the last game when they all played badly.
I think Kay is a good option. Whether he was a winger for a long time he started as a half back and has the skills. If he wants to keep going as hooker then for me the games he's played so far show he is good enough.
Bowes has also played well. I would shield him from lots of games as Willie is doing but he's developing and needs game time to do that. Whether reserves or 1st team.
That ok?

| Am not going to waste breath on today. If Tanginoa or Whitbread were loaned out for the season, are we allowed another quota player or do they have to be simply removed from the register?
And
Please MC, ask again if anyone wants to leave.

| Our new recruits simply don’t cut the mustard and have weakened the squad instead of strengthening it ,we must rely more than ever on the old guard to see us through this season ,then hopefully Poaching will have some wiggle room to sort out the deadwood and bring fresh growth and impetus to the squad

| Looking at who we have let go and brought in 100% agree.
Letting the Wood hookers go and bringing in Hood, I’d take either Wood any day of the week. Gaskell in for Hampshire, it’s Hampshire all day for me. Whitbread In for Tangata, again offers nothing more than Tangata apart from being younger. Tom Lineham, looks 2 stone over weight, would have Kay way ahead of him and Murphy. At least when Murphy breaks not many in SL will catch him, both look to have the same defensive capabilities too.

It's very difficult to perform well when the forwards are dominated and play the ball slow and you don't have people running enough good lines to hit. Against Wire and the first half against Wigan in the cup he played really well, as did most of the team including Hood who is now also getting hammered, he suffers in a similar way when the bg men aren't setting the platform. What can go wrong so quickly and why? Bizarre

Tend to agree. but we need to scour the RL world to see if we can pick up a prop of some size and aggression because, even with Fifita in, which is becoming a luxury, we are not competitive enough in the forwards.
We're in a bit of a rut.
We need a change of attitude and some bodies back.
I was one who thought we had quality in depth this season, but quality alone is not sufficient, the team needs to play with heart and enthusiasm and in the past two games, that's been missing.

Talking of CC.
The signing of John Asiata by Leigh would have been a great loose forward/prop oversees signing for Trinity. Can’t believe he’s playing in the Championship….

I don't think I've seen you say any of the players aren't good enough or criticise and yet they perform poorly on a regular basis. It's almost like what is reflected in your posts aren't accurate in terms of what is produced on the pitch. The working for the club comment is a tongue-in-cheek attempt at squaring that circle. I was also very grumpy after that result so may have overreacted a tad...

Well, I'm thinking we haven't got much money, more than there isn't much available, although I suppose it is a bad time of the season to be looking to recruit, other than perhaps season-long loan players?
