I’ve been excited all week for this game based on the squad announcement… if I had known the team I would have still been excited but with muted expectations…

Enjoyed the little pre match build up on the pitch when dissecting Trinity. Thought Andrew Henderson and Kyle Amor composed themselves very well. Hope to see more of them going forward.

Enjoyable game so far, unlucky to turn round behind.
Excellent first nine minutes although respect has to be given to Wigans defence.

Wigan defence been good but our attack is so flat and whats gaskell obsession with kicking the ball

Well he keeps getting repeat sets with them.

We need to stop bigging up games and failing to deliver on them.

Repeat sets we did nothing with the kicks themselves where not threatening in anyway

Mago’s introduction and our failure to deal with him was the start of the downfall for us I thought , Effort in buckets full but we’re shown a few lessons in counter attacking . Thought the scoreline didn’t reflect the game but also never thought Wigan were in danger of losing the lead after 10 mins into second half . Some exhausted bodies who never gave up but with 3 of our best strike players sat on the sidelines it was an uphill struggle from the off . A real shame for me is the tv coverage showing a well beaten wakefield in the second half ,and the general public and stay aways won’t realise how far we’ve come this season watching that

Fair result obviously and although the score-line did flatter them a bit, we never got through their line and never really looked like scoring in that second half. Let's just hope that Fifita, Miller and Johnstone are fit for Thursday and we can bounce back because Cas are NOT Wigan

So why did we signed him not a patch on Miller . Miller brings farmore in attack and ,takes the line on and he tackles big time .Gaskell was like a open gate

Missed Fifita, Johnstone and Miller big time in the Challenge Cup Quarter final….. never mind they’ll be fresh to play next Thursday in a league match…



Fifita would have helped counter act Wigans dominant pack.

Johnstone would have scored that disallowed try for Murphy in first half and been a constant threat like French and Field for Wigan.

Miller would have been more of a threat with ball in hand than Gaskell and defensively stronger.

Opportunity missed to create some excitement and greater interest in Trinity in my opinion going all out to progress in the cup with your best 17….

Think next year all SL teams should be in the CC from the start

The league is more important.

To be honest I thought we were the better side for long stretches of the game.
Ultimately Wigan's defense beat us as we could get scores from all the pressure early on.

Better team won. Scoreline doesn't matter now.
Let's move on to beating Cas.

Really disappointed today. Wigan gave us a lesson without the ball i.e. they slowed the game right down, in possession their speed getting the ball out was far superior. Ourselves couldn't get any speed from the play of the ball and slow line speed.

That said I thought for the first 30 we played well other than struggling to break their line and the kicking early in the tackle count. We had a couple 50-20s and dropouts sadly we couldn't turn that into more points.

Thought the ref could have looked at Gaskells ruled out try it looked harsh. Murphy went well shame he didn't pouch that pass he could have had a hatrick with some more luck. Onwards and upwards Cas next bring it on.

To be fair to Gaskell he was always bound to be ring rusty with one game under his belt ,obviously I prefer Miller in the half’s ,but going forwards I’d put Lee at loose against Cas , just because he still has a decent pair of hands on him and gives another dimension in our attack and to counter the threat from Westerman.

Thought it was a good crowd, a lot more than announced but we only have to pay half of what was announced.

Up the Trin
