| I think the Leigh squad is better than some give it credit for, Briely, Russel, Flower. Sidlow, Gelling, Thornley, Mellor, Hood, Ellis, Reynolds, Peats to name a few are to be respected. Hood, Sidlow, Flower and Russel I would love to see at Trinity. Leigh have had there fair share of injuries. I still think if they can get close to their best 17 on the pitch they will win some games. We will have to be at our most determined, most professional against them.

For once I agree with you.
Professionalism is the key, something we have lacked in recent seasons even taking the injury curse into account.
Player for player they are the weakest team in SL but that doesn’t mean they can’t play well and they easily have enough talent to catch us napping.
The game is ours to lose and I’ve no doubt that if Leigh smell any weakness they will go for it, that after all is what’s kept us in SL most seasons.

| Quote ="vastman"Because it’s a completely different issue how obvious can it be.
The over all financial well being of the club is a long running issue of great concern, no doubt.
But it has sod all to do with the team performance in a single game. There is NO connection.
Unless the players have not been paid, in what way do the clubs finances affect Sunday? They simply don’t.
What will effect Sunday are injuries, tactics, attitude and luck. WTRLFC’S balance sheet is on no importance for those 80 mins.
It baffles me that you can’t see a difference between living in the moment and the wider issues of life. Those 80 minutes are about escapism, that’s the point and on current form you’d have to expect a win.
As I keep saying I’d not be the least surprised if we blew it and lost but I’m not expecting it, in the same way I don’t expect to get run over every time I cross the road whilst wondering if I can pay my electric bill.
Enjoy the game and hope for the best
'"
Apologies for not articulating my thoughts properly.
Of course our finances have NOTHING to do with the match on Sunday, specifically. However, they have everything to do with the squad that we can afford and injuries aside, the 17 players that will take the field on Sunday. Do you see the connection now ?
As for "living in the moment", accepting that we have played very well in the last 2 games, where was this philosophy over the previous umpteen games.
Anyway, onwards and upwards, enjoy the game.

Cool, trust me I know how overwhelming being a Trin fan can be but we need to at least enjoy the game when we can.
For some reason or other the wheels will fall off and then someone will nail them back on. It’s not ideal but until the White Knight arrives we just need to try not to let it grind us down, and maybe all RL fans not just us should remember that the real joy is on the pitch. Admittedly the last 18 months have been especially frustrating.

| Back to the game, Trinity are -18 on the handicap.
Cant remember the last time that we were such strong favourites to win a SL game ?

| Huddersfield bombarded our line with back to back penalties and got no joy ,and they are a very capable attacking team with threats all over the field ,so why do we fear Leigh . Our defence has been ok this year which has now gone to another level and to compliment this we have discovered our attacking prowess .We have Virtually a full strength teamwork pick from , playing open attractive rugby with a smile on their faces . Play the game with the same attitude and effort and the two points are in the bag Id say, and have faith in the team.

Thanks for the reminder Ketty
Never has so much expectation been followed by such a poor result.
Mind you our "win streak" is only 2 games so, there shouldn't be any over confidence just yet !

15/2 for a Leigh win too. Might put a decent bet on at that price. Hoping to lose my money obviously.

I’m having the same problem. It seems the Rugby league site has been merged with the Our League site. It’s a right mess. I did eventually find the match officials site, but it’s showing last weeks game’s officials. Never had a problem before this week using the RL site.

I sent an email to the council on the 26th of May, after the council had been down to BV the previous Friday, to re-assess the ground capacity.
This is the reply I received today. 31% of normal capacity.
Dear Mr
Further to your recent question about the capacity at Wakefield Trinity I confirm the following;
Current guidance states that maximum capacity is either 50% of the stadiums current capacity or 4000, whichever is the lesser. In this case the capacity is less than 4000 due to existing safety restrictions. There is specific guidance for sports stadiums on how to calculate capacity in line with social distancing requirements. Wakefield Trinity's current occupancies are based on the 1metre plus mitigation rule. The capacities are set for each area within the stadium, having regard to the guidance, but I can confirm that the total revised capacity at present is 31% of normal capacity.
Kind regards,
Claudine Robertson

Interesting. The ‘guidance’ states 4000 or 50% of maximum capacity. I would indicate that to be based on actual spatial capacity and not safety regulated reduced capacity. Unless Covid can now distinguish the strength of foundations etc it seems rather bizarre.
Maximum capacity of the stadium in 2008 was raised to 12,600 so that appears to be the maximum capacity of Belle vue.
The current reduced capacity seems to be 9,333 so 50% of this is 4000+ so 4000 would apply.
I have no idea how the 31% figure would be imposed. Seems quite unreasonable for a mainly open aired venue with a maximum special capacity of 12,600.
31% is 19% below the guidance limit. That’s extremely harsh. Normal capacity makes me believe it’s the capacity that’s normal without imposed restrictions so 31% of 12,600 means 3,906. Sounds more like it.

I heard someone discussing tickets allocation when I was in the shop this week. I’m sure I heard a figure of 2,300 allocated, so, if 31% is 2;300, then 100% capacity is near enough 7;500. I think snowie might know better, i think he was involved with working on the crush barriers a few years ago, and the ground safety lot reassessment reduced the capacity.

I just find it strange if it is based on a reduced safety capacity. That’s not the actual maximum capacity the footprint will allow.
I could understand if the 7500 was to be breached but there’s no chance of that with the 4000 maximum imposed. The ground safety will only be compromised above 7500 afterall.
Even so that doesn’t account for why it’s not 50% of 7500.
Where the 31% come from I don’t know. Shaving a further 19% off guidance there must be a reason.
Maybe I’m just missing something.

| We are dealing with wakefield council ,not an easy thing to do at the best of times , probably read the government guidelines and just plucked a figure out of the air and gone with it . However they have come up with the figure we are stuck with it until such time that we are deemed safe by the government to increase crowds. By which time with a few more wins under our belt we’ll have fans salivating to get their mitts on a ticket to watch the mighty Trin.

It states certain areas of the ground don’t meet social distancing guidance. The capacity is irrelevant. That will be for most stadia without seating capacity.

Going to be a hot day it seems so will need some water for the game.

31% is 19% below the guidance limit. That’s extremely harsh. Normal capacity makes me believe it’s the capacity that’s normal without imposed restrictions so 31% of 12,600 means 3,906. Sounds more like it.'"
12600 is not the spatial capacity it's the capacity set by the Council at that time based on a range of factors, whatever the present capacity is will have been decided on the same basis, Covid brings in a raft of new guidance and once you have read past the headlines of up to 50% and a maximum of 4000 the chances of reaching either of those two figures is unlikely when you already have a low capacity and beyond the headlines information is factored by the Council. Does it really matter what the figure is, we're getting spectators back at BV hopefully the end of the month restrictions lifted and we can let some more in it's better than Behind Closed Doors

| Quote ="Wildthing"First visit back to BV Sunday for myself, can you take your own water with you? or buy it in the ground?
Going to be a hot day it seems so will need some water for the game.'"
Been nothing for sale in the previous games, so assume similar on Sunday.
Yes, you can take water into the ground, in plastic bottles, not in a bucket.
