| Shane Tronc left early because his family couldn’t settle - how’s this any different? Certain elements of the Aussie press are clearly being discriminatory towards English players.

That's Australians for you. Forty years of total dominance in the sport yet scratch away the veneer and the colonial insecurities are instantly on show.

| Vast majority stay over here and have a positive effect on our comp ,and enjoy and embrace the lifestyle , some a little too much may I add .A few can’t settle ,but they don’t go bleating it all over social media .He was quick enough to grab the wonga on offer when offered, and off he tootled . Did he think they we’re paying him all that money and a near celebrity lifestyle to not play footie and then spit his dummy out when they curtailed his contract . Not seen my son and family for nearly 2 years due to COVID n other things ,but am I bleating all over the place ,NO . He was handsomely paid to do a job ,and fulfill his contractual obligations , he hasn’t ,so he’s gone , simply as that .

| Again, he said himself he was willing to train and play until the end of the season, but no Canberra wanted to make him out as the bad guy. They were the ones who gave him that contract.
I can’t believe I’m sticking up for an ex Wigan player here.

I for one don’t think that overseas players are now having a positive impact on our game. We have neglected our own game and players to a point where we can’t compete at international level and we are very rarely producing and top world class players. I’d like to see all clubs limited to three overseas players with no exceptions, also all teams should be made to field at least 3 homegrown academy players and maybe introduce an extra substitute and say the mom from the academy the previous week be given a spot.

I think part of the problem with overseas players now, is that we have a quantity over quality issue, with sides having more overseas players than they did at a time of when super league was just starting up.
I do think that when the RFL are looking at things like salary cap increases to make our own league more attractive, in retaining our own players, then they should be looking at reducing the quota at the same time as increasing the cap.
Also, if we had a better overall standard of overseas player, then this may bring out improved quality of our own players, as playing with better players around you can improve you as a player

It was pretty bad in the mid 2000's, just have a look at our line up for the 2006 million pound game. We only had Rooney and March from the UK in that side, I suppose Henderson counts but he grew up in Oz.

| We need to be signing Jowitt and Walker up asap on the strength of the last few games.
Jowitt needs to be the number one to tie down though at the moment.
There’s still slot to prove for a few players but Jowitt, Walker and Batch are definitely ones I’d tie down.
I need to eat a bit of humble pie on Kershaw too. Last 3 games the lad has been solid as a rock and proving he is SL standard. He’s cut out the mistakes which is credit to him.

Having juggled and dropped 2 interceptions hopefully 3 rd time lucky next week, you tend to overlook the fact he’s still only 21 or 22

Sorry I don’t understand that. I know exactly how old he is but I don’t see the relevance of his age to my comments. Can you explain where I’m overlooking his age and why?
My main criticism of Kershaw has been that he is open to drop a clanger that tends to cost the team (Leeds pre season game 2020, fumbling the drop out a few week ago). It appears that with regular game time these are becoming less frequent. He’s also carrying the ball very well. I feel the need to praise him on his last 2 performances that’s all. On one of those interceptions today if he hadn’t have tried Hudds would have been in.

His age makes a massive difference
He is still only young and his game will continue to improve, the clangers will stop with experience (can’t say I have him down as some on that does tbf)
I think we have a really good sl winger in the making
He just needs more game time which comes with age

| Can any one tell me what max jowitt has done wrong to not have a contract renewal
He was excellent today
Since his rookie season he’s never had a constant run at full back, I don’t think I can recall a player that’s being in the team then he’s not?
I really don’t get it, he’s a natural full back

Has it been announced that we are not renewing? Just because it’s not announced doesn’t mean it’s not happened. I think Walker will be leaving instead.

I don’t know why I’m bothering to answer you but as it seems a reasonable question,
He may have been though it’s a bit early.
However it’s just as likely his agent is hanging off waiting to see what offers materialise from other clubs. The better they are the more leverage they have.
Max like Crowther will have their his with the club I’m sure but a career is a career. If someone offers an early deal (unofficially) that we can’t match we are stuffed.
I’m more worried about Jowitt than most as good FBs are rare at the moment and we don’t have an obvious youngster to replace him.
I’m sure we will offer a deal but whether that’s enough I don’t know.

I hope that's the case because I've always rated him and he's made many people eat their words.
Brad Walker i also rate highly so I hope he's snapped up - by us of course!

For some reason some fans have assumed that when MC said we were looking for a FB next year that he meant Jowitt was going. I like you would jump to the far more obvious conclusion that it would be A Walker and perhaps even Hampshire. But in true Trinity fan style we see a conspiracy to get rid of one of our own.
I mean he may well be on his way for all I know but why draw that conclusion at this point baffles me a bit.

| If we are losing one of our players for next year at full back, I feel it may be Hampshire.
MJ has earned the right to that number one shirt, and with Miller and Linos partnership looking like its now gelling. Therefore Hampshires game time could reduced once fit.
Its a shame as i do like him, and have seen him play well for us wherever he has played.
Both parties may feel, after the last contract negotiations that enough is enough and may wish to part ways

It’s a tough one for Hampshire. He is in essense the ultimate squad player. He can play to a good level at 1,6,7 even wing. He may not even play every week but would be a valuable squad player. Depends if he’s happy with that or wants more. There will always be opportunity through injury and the lad doesn’t lack ability or effort.
He’s highly thought of at Wakey no doubt but given the choice I’d keep Hampshire and let Walker go. Walker put in a couple of good performances when called on and would go with thanks. Still plenty of the season left yet though so who knows.

The only thing I can say for absolute certain is that there was a press release recently saying we wanted a new full back for next season (and a prop)
It might be I have assumed they won’t renew Max’s contract based on that
However I’d like to think if we are looking for a new fb it would logically be for a an established fb and at the expense max, or else why bother with another full back?
I can say with absolute certainty that since that incredible rookie year he’s only played intermittently and has never had a proper long term run at fb
