| Very little post-match reaction on here ??
As previously stated, we couldn't get today due to mothers day commitments, but did manage to listen to the first half on rhubarb radio then got twitter updates from youngest daughter's BF throughout second half.
So what was the overall consensus ???
Was the scoreline a true reflection of the game, or were we badly done to with the disallowed tries ??

| To win at Wigan you need to play well and get the run of the green. Today I don't think we got either. I'm not saying we were poor but a couple of calls that on another day went our way and you win. The forward passes didn't look forward but as I said on another day we score. I think Wigan just about edged it , but if we continue as we are we'll be there or there abouts come the end of the season.

| Didn't go today so was all that hype about our great and improved defense against the Shudds last week a little misplaced?

| Obviously disappointed that we didn't come away with the two points but certainly not the end of the world.
We were competitive throughout the game. Had a couple of calls not gone against us, we could well have come back with the points.
There would have been a time, when today after going 2 scores behind, where we would have fallen away and conceded further points. Not today, we kept going and kept trying.
Four from five and I will take that, wasn't it 2 from 5 this time last year.
Let's dust ourselves down now and focus on the next game

| In recent seasons to come away from Wigan with defeat of 12 points would have been known as a moral victory, however missing out with the rub of the green for what could have been 4 Tries is disappointing. From behind the posts I thought all 3 of BJBs opportunities looked good and Finnys effort looked good but there were lots of players in close proximity. A good effort by all the team lead by Danny Kirmond and a great seasonal debut by Tyler Randall.

Finn’s was a definite obstruction, and BJB’s first looked fine to me. Not sure about the other.

| Like I wrote it looked a bit congested for Finny, but the 2 passes BJB received didnt look forward, and the pass where he kicked through the whistle seemed to come late. Also not going on about it much more but the ref blew up straight away when they lost the ball and Grix & Kirmond picked up with the line open.

| I thought we commanded the first 25 minutes but then lost intensity and gifted them a soft try when BJB flew in and unnecessarily left his wing unattended for a walk in try. We still managed to get the ascendancy back and take a deserved half time lead. Kendall gave us just about naff all. Holding down in the tackle was reffed by the crowd and it appeared one rule for them and another for us. I will need to see the replay for the BJB disallowed try. Looked level but end on you can't be sure. It was a tough call though as I have seen dozens of tries like that go unchallenged over the last 10 years. The 2nd BJB forward pass incident did not look forward at all and I would be very interested to see that one.
Overall, I would say first half spot on, second half we had a very bad opening 20 with completions and in the end it told. Kendall made it worse but Wigan probably deserved it though more like by 6 than 12. A great effort by the lads I thought. I overheard a couple of Wiganers chatting as I walked back to the car "They're a good side now, you know. That's a good 2 points. They pass it around lovely". Not bad to hear from the opposition fans

| I thought after the first 20 minutes Wigan were on top. They were the better side. The halftime score was about right but second half I thought we were quite poor in our execution and discipline. Wigan were smarter around the ruck and I also thought they made metres down the middle with more ease than us. There were some real easy scores for Wigan where they didn't have to work particularly hard which was disappointing. The 3rd Burgess one was a shocker. Overall, the effort from the team was great but second half Trinity were just too sloppy and you can't gift teams like Wigan that kind of field position as they will put points on you.
BJB, Randell and Lyne did very well.

Hope it was okay. I landed at Manchester Airport from Dublin at 1.45pm after a half hour delay. The train I had booked from Manchester to Wigan was cancelled and had to get a 60 quid taxi from the airport direct to the stadium to make the game on time. The main broadcaster, Ben, who had all the equipment was stuck at Manchester Piccadilly because of that protest that occurred and couldn't get a train to Wigan so I literally had to do the commentary by myself from a mobile phone an hour after landing from a stag weekend in Dublin. Hope it sounded alright for people.

| Im a Wigan fan and to me it just shows how bias one eyed including my self we are. The talk during and after the game from us was just the same ... BJB second try was forwards Im sat on side across from it. Escarre was onside, the ref was crap and if he had not given so much ball to you with pens we would have won with more. Talking to friends who sit in East stand on 20 nearest away end(sidet)they said BJB call was right but they would like me thier specs are cherry n white tinted.
Good luck for rest of the season.

| Gutted with the loss, although there is no disgrace in losing at Wigan.
The best team won but, the 2 forward pass calls on BJB looked very harsh and the ref calls for holding down were just bizarre, especially with the messing around at the ruck from the Cherry and Whites.
Kendal looked out of his depth in the second half and following the injury to Grix, the head sot + follow up deserved 10 minutes.
As I say, the best team won but, with Tomkins and O Loughlin "assisting" the ref, we were always up against it.

This was very irritating. There was a lot of chat from these 2 towards the ref. It's time they started binning layers who want to chelp at every decision. Tomkins was embarrassing at points today and he is a quality player.

Not on our 2nd half performance mate. We were OK 1st half but in the 2nd half Salford were allowed to slow things down at the play the ball. Wigan are experts at this so I think we'll struggle next week but hopefully they'll swell the attendance as very few from Salford came today. I'd say 20 at most.

| it puts us back in our place a little our aim should be top 8 (not top 4 just yet) with results on weekend we are only 4 points away from 9th! its going to be tight and we need to keep wining the games we have to (eg the bottom 4 who we have beat)
Listened on radio only - it seems that were penalizedout of game in the first 50 mins- not sure if it was a case of our discipline or a home team ref display which I am tipping - the so called BIG teams always seem to get the 50/50 calls.
watching the highlights our defense was shocking.......
our Attack not been brilliant all season and we need to step it up to compete with the big clubs.
3rd now - still would have taken that at start of season though.
must win now against widnes.

| Yes, big let down for me was shipping in 30 points and instantly doubling our points against for the season. A real wingers game regarding the try scoring. You've got to say that, as far as scoring goes, BJB jus gets on with it week in week out.
Down to earth just in time for another 4 pointer crucial game v Widnes.
Save me some money not getting the 2 Monday morning rugby papers for the 1st time this season.

| We lost the match where I thought we could win it - better pack in the middle. Wigan do what they do and you have to deal with it and not give them the chance to milk penalties.
Wasn't happy with officiating but will have a look at the disallowed efforts again. Must have been very marginal calls on the two forward passes.

| Just to get it out of my system.
What the hell is going on with players jumping to the floor to try and gain penalties, as the they've been shoved to ground.
It's becoming like bloody football.
I know this happens every week but, Wigan must have had a couple of full practice sessions on this, cheating *****

| I was proud of the boys performance yesterday Wigan is a hard place for any side to go and win. I disagree with all the key board warriors claiming Trinity’s bubble has burst, we were competitive throughout the 80 and had the officiating been of a higher standard the result would have been closer. Wigan edged it for me as they seemed to be able to shift the ball to the winger much more quickly than we could. That said, they got key calls from the ref at crucial times which clearly influenced the game. Tony Clubb should have seen yellow at the minimum, a closed fist swinging arm to the head is bad enough, but to then drop on the player after is disgraceful play.

| The main thing from this defeat is to learn from it and respond accordingly.
We didn't get a good hiding and seems from some of the comments that we could have won, although the general opinion seems to be that Wigan were the better team.
History now, onwards and upwards let's get behind the team for the Widnes game. 5 from 6 won't be too bad will it?

| Bad day at the office, some mistakes made, but positives to take as well. The true test now is how we respond on Saturday. I Think we would all have taken 4 from 5 if we'd been asked at start of the season. So bring on Saturday and lets get back on the winning streak!
