On field performance seemed to be better than last season and last weekends attendance was higher than Salford's and not far behind Widnes.

What good has he done?

He has been the only person at the club in 10 years in making players train like full time professionals, and not just get paid.

I think some players have warmed to this, the ones he has brought in, the others. signed by Agar and Webster haven't. Hopefully, whoever comes in, will get rid of the idle freeloaders like Kirmo, Scruton and Anderson

Had those three players have gone, i think the whole squad would have been aiming for the same things

The bloke is milking the club for all its worth why else would he be involved I can't remember seeing anywhere that he's a mad Wakefield fan . The sooner the fans on here realise the better and stop seeing him as some sort of savour

BBC Radio Leeds reports that Smith asked for his contract to be terminated after speaking to the Wakefield players on Tuesday morning.

When he was appointed I felt this was a change in fortunes for the club in a very positive way and while I don't know his reasons for resigning I feel very let down at the moment so until a statement is released I guess we will have to bit the bullet and wait

He seemed pretty genuine at the time.
He wasn't making money from the club, it was costing him. So if you fancy a go, give him a ring.

I think he simply announced his decision to the players rather than resigned on the strength of that meeting.
................saying that, if it was because of what was said in that meeting we are in deeper poo than ever.

He has said before that he stayed after being convinced by Carter based on what was going to be done to help him. If (and I don't know) he didn't get the backing he wanted he may as well go back to his original decision to go back home.

I really feel it's a missed opportunity by the club.

Does he have to be a fan?? I don't claim he is a god, but at the same time, there wasn't a queue of people lining up either before he took over or since, so on those grounds i think it is fair to say, we wouldnt still be in Super League without both MC and CB.

Should they walk away tomorrow, yes someone else may step in, but i assure you they would be walking into a lot better situation than the current board picked it up in 2 years ago.

Anyhow, my preferred options for the new coach in order are:

2. Glen Morrison
3. Karl Harrison
