This has made us a laughing stock and has probably made the poor girl trying to flog sponsorship and corperates job twice as hard as well. And i doubt he will have just walked for nothing, there will be some agreement in place to help him find his feet even if it is just something like 3 months wages. So he will have saved the sum total of nowt.

Feel a bit sorry for Webbo, things were looking good when he first took over. However there has since came an attitude in the team that seems to say they can't really be bothered when it comes to digging in, how much of that was down to Webbo or the players themselves I don't know. But if people think some ex Wakey player with and sp CV in coaching is gonna come in and miraculously change things, then I would think again. Even if it's John Kear, i'll give him 6 months before people are complaining about the boring rugby and want rid.

Interesting thoughts Boyem, but what anyone hasn't considered yet is the fact that Kear and Morrison are surely under contract at Batley and Dewsbury respectively !!! For this to happen, we would likely have to buy both their contracts out, which I'm sure won't come cheap, and with our Chairman's thrifty attitude, do we really think this will happen ???

In my experience, it's exceptionally rare for anyone to fall on their sword in a genuine sense; regardless of the public announcement, these things are usually wrapped up in a compromise agreement.

What probably happened is that MC had a protected conversation with JW, they agreed terms for him to resign and hey presto, he left of his own accord and wasn't sacked, so doesn't carry that with him into his next endeavours. It happens all the time and is a much more sensible, well-managed way of removing someone.

I will accept that it should probably have been done sooner, but don't create the myth that Webster committed hara-kiri like a disgraced samurai - it's highly unlikely.

Sadly probably not. One thing is for sure if he takes the cheap option again then it will likely fail and cost him a lot more in the long run.

Cannot see what Webster could say really what is not already in the public domain, both our on field and off field problems are well documented, Carter gave him an amount of money for recruitment and told him to get who he wanted within that budget, and despite that still found extra funding for players when injuries kicked in, the position he finds himself in is purely down to him and his inability to find success, anything said against the club imo will stink of sour grapes.

Webster's problem is he is too nice a bloke & intelligent unlike the playing staff.

Liverpool forums made Raheem Sterling out to be ace and the next big thing only 18 months ago, now they are ready to burn him on bonfire night as the guy.

People's opinions change all the time in the sporting world as it goes with performances and results. When you win games, you are held in high regard by fans as their team is doing well but when the results don't go to plan then your head quickly comes on the chopping block.

This forum and the users on it are no different to any other on here or the World Wide Web.

Way to exaggerate, he took over and the honeymoon period meant he won enough games to keep us up. I recall most saying it was and odd decision to award him a 2.5 years contract, not that he shouldn’t have got the job.

Agar needed removing, Webster was the cheap option and an 18 month contract would’ve been a fair deal. He has shown this year there are flaws in his ability to coach, just as there were some good things on show last and early this season, but in the main he hasn’t a clue of how to get the club out of this hole we are in. Clearly paying up one person is a far cheaper option than paying up an entire squad of underperforming players.

Something to do with the horrible season we've had so far, maybe?

I definitely would have Kear as first choice. No hesitation. I think he would relish the opportunity and can see the "potential" quality of this squad. He has no experience of working with Tim Smith, Godinet and some of the other exciting players we have. If he is in contention he must be licking his lips.

I dare say as well there maybe a release clause at Batley should the SL come knocking. After all wasn't he putting his CV in for the Cas job not so long ago. Also at a time when Cas were financially on the brink, as we now know.

I think there is enough time for someone to come in and turn us around in time for the split. Sunday confirmed to me that we have enough quality in our team to get a comfortable victory over the likes of Leigh. We just need to restore team spirit, motivation and a never say die attitude. If we do that I have a lot of confidence that we'll be in Super League next year.

Also, I think Widnes at home is a perfect post Webster match. Away from home they haven't been great and I think they are destined for the middle 8s like us. A perfect opportunity to make amends for that drubbing at their place and start setting a benchmark.

James Webster believed in Jordan and gave him a shot at super league which is why I will always be greatful to him,also spoke to me Several times during his development.6 top flight appearances at 2nd row and still 18yrs old so I think you can tell I wasn't one for him to go.Sorry if this as been done earlier in the thread but I've just got back from France where Jordan and Max represented their country whilst playing for Wakey Trin,yes Wakefield,so something must be working down at BV.If every body got finished when they failed at work then half of you lot on here would be sat on a park bench.As you've gathered I have got a lot of time for JW and Stu Dickens and I wish all the best for James and his young family for the future.

Ok Brian so you dont blame Webster so in that case you must be blaming the players or the management or maybe its the fans fault which one is it?.

It is quite simple the players. Even if they don't rate the coach they should be professional & do what they are paid to which is to play to Super League standard which they are not.

I don't think many fans have a bad word to say about Webster its just not worked out so something had to change

The problem is for me, that the players are putting effort in, they are just not co-ordinated.
The forwards are running hard and tackling hard but then leave a gap when they are put under pressure. It isn't just effort.
