The Owen 3 year deal thing seems to have wound everybody up but lets be honest, they haven't done it because they are rewarding him in some way, so the "deserves" bit isn't really the point.
The club and Webster in particular must think that over a 3 year period, we will get our money's worth out of him.
That is because
They know how much they are paying, and we don't
They know what plans they have for him, and we don't
They have had one to one conversations with him, and we don't

I don't like his style at all, and he winds me up. But I also think he has a lot of trys in him and if we can make it work it will be a big advantage to Wakefield Trinity.
We'll just have to wait and see. The deal is done so no point moaning about it now, and certainly no value in booing one of our own.

They are PT. He has turned down a very good job as a gamekeeper (which is on hold I believe) to prolong his playing career. He was ready to pack in RL 12 months ago.

What I mean is they are not rewarding him out of the kindness of their heart, they are paying him money for three years because they think they wil get benefit back for more value than they are paying.

Well then, if only for the bunnies and badgers sakes let's hope he's better at tackling poachers than he he is Rugby players.

Agreed - if he gets his head right WTW will have gem in Ritchard Owen and value for money. It can be done and maybe Webster is the man to do it.

So even more unprofrofessional by the club signing a player for 3 years that may not have the heart for RL anymore. He would be too slow as a game keeper.

Can someone please tell me who will be the scapegoat for all that is wrong with the team if Richard Owen gets a long term injury. I suppose with some on here it will still be him.

I was thinking we might try and squeeze out some sence before locking. If there is nothing to say it will just drift down the list.
