4 tries against a poor London side doesn't change the fact that he'll be below average more often than not this season. Fair play today, Richie, but i'll be happy when I see some consistency.

So to be considered acceptable to some of you he needs to score 4 trys every game. I think you will find that all full backs play hot and cold it is just the nature of the position.

I have been disappointed with Mathers performance of late because for all his defensive frailties, you could rely on him to score a try or two but this seemed to be missing from his game lately also.
You can only score against what's in front of you and he has done it in style today.
Hopefully now the team is growing and getting better as the pitches harden up, Mathers defensive woes will not be as noticeable, as I think he will start to score more often behind a team that is on the front foot.
I maybe contradicting myself from a few weeks ago about Mathers but after all, I am a RL fan!

Like I have stated in my other posts not a fan of Mathers, but today he sounded like he played well. If he can play half as good every week then i'll be happy.

No one said that. Stop being so daft. I appluad Richie for a good game today but one swallow doesn't make a summer. Over a large period of games he doesn't show enough in attack or defence in my opinion. That said, his go forward inside our half is good. I do recognise he has positive attributes - he's a pro rugby player so he should at least have some attributes.

try scorer - did you go to the game today ? if you did how did Mathers play ?he must have been backing the man with the ball up to get 4 but that don't mean he did something outstanding.I didn't go to the game today working nights and had a breakdown with the truck half way through the shift so also had to wait for breakdown coming out.Saying I didn't go I could not say if Mathers was good or bad unlike the Wigan game as I went and Mathers was quite poor for my money.

Not little ,not a troll someone whose been involved with the game for a lot of years playing coaching and watching ,and find it easy to spot a showman who plays to the gallery but when the going gets tough dissapears
