Quote ="bren2k"Good for them - let's hope it doesn't catch the attention of Cllr Wakefield, any hastily convened local conservation groups or god forbid, fans of opposing clubs who suddenly discover a love of brown outdoor spaces.
I hope it comes off - they need it as much as we do.'"
This site will enjoy the full support of Councillor Wakefield because this is the site LCC were pushing in place of Newmarket... because it was not adjacent Methley.
I think it going to be hard for many die-hard Cas fans having to write letters of objection against this development, having of course clearly set out and stuck by their principals against developing green-belt sites previously, then I would expect the letters of objection to coming flooding in...
This is potentially the start of a very long road and clearly having had the site rejected for removal from the green-belt in the LDF, the developer is prepared to role the dice for getting planning now the political landscape has changed. Of course, I am sure he is going to try and demonstrate exceptional circumstances for developing on green-belt using Cas Tigers need for a new stadium... sound familiar?
It will be interesting to see the views of some posters about this development and whether they stick strongly to their publicly declared principals...
I am personally neutral on the subject of whether this site should be developed, it is a matter for the local community, WMDC and the SoS office to decide on any application to develop this site.
