| Is it me or have london brought a few players over well after our signings. This stinks when players were told If play in world cup they would qualify for a visa and yet we are still waiting. Might be just me but there seems to be a lot of stuff manufactured to ensure we go down this season.

Careful! A chip that size is only allowed if you're from Cas! We're the parochial, 'world is against us' mob in this district; get your own gripe!

| I think its speaks volumes that the RFL wouldn't support our visa apllication for Harry Siejka as they deemed he was not a suitably experienced first grade player in the NRL (4 games in 2 years) yet they have by all accounts supported all Londons applications. Their signings NRL stats equate to:
Solomona 0 appearances
Mataitonga 0 appearances
Slyney 11 appearances in 5 years
Atkins 31 years old and just 42 first grade appearances and just 2 since 2011.
They are also trying to sign Jake Leary from Tweed Head Seagulls, not exactly NRL first grade. Be interesting to see how that one goes.
It's ok though, theres no favouritism......

| RFL are supportive of Visa applications when it suits them, a couple years back I remember them going to the ends of the earth to try get a visa for Todd carney, they even kicked up a public fuss against the home office and "seeking clarification' of visa rules - needless to say its one rule for one and one rule for another.

Can't quite remember the full details but didn't Trinity's application for a visa for Quentin Pongia get turned down because the RFL wouldn't support it but when Wigan wanted to sign him he miraculously fulfilled the RFLS criteria and they got his visa through in record time

You are correct. And an application without the support of the governing body almost certainly fails. So yes, the RFL have a part to play in visa applications.

Get the local Wakefield MP involved Leeds Rhinos did a couple of seasons ago!
The UK Borders Agency has agreed to work more closely with Engage Super League clubs to overcome the problems that have led to frustrating delays in overseas player being granted working visas.
The move follows a meeting between Greg Mulholland, the Member of Parliament for Leeds North West and Vice-chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Rugby League Group, the Minister for Immigration, Damian Green MP, officials from the UK Border Agency and RFL Operations Director, Emma Rosewarne.
The meeting was instigated after Mr Mulholland was alerted to the issue by Leeds Rhinos, a Super League club based in his constituency.
The outcome of the meeting was an agreement from UKBA to work more closely with Super League clubs to ensure visas are processed as quickly as possible, both in terms of clubs putting forward applications and how they are dealt with. As part of that, UKBA will meet with Super League club representatives to ensure closer a closer working arrangement and will create direct links with the UKBA officials at the British High Commission in Canberra, Australia, so NRL and Super League clubs can work out any issues that may arise.
Mr Mulholland said “this is a very good thing for the sport of Rugby League. In my own constituency, Leeds Rhinos have experienced some delays and challenges with the system. Now that we have an accord between Super League clubs and the UK Border Agency, as well as the promise of a closer working relationship with the UKBA officials in Canberra, I hope that we should see fewer world-class players struggling to play in our premier competition.”
On hearing of the arrangements, the RFL’s Chief Operating Officer Ralph Rimmer said: “I’m delighted that we have come to this working arrangement; the experience of Super League clubs in bringing players to the UK is usually very positive and clubs have been sharing best practice.
“There have, however, been a few cases that have inevitably caused frustrations. This developing tri-partite approach between the Super League, the NRL and the UK Border Agency will ensure Super League continues to offer an exciting platform for the very best players in world Rugby League.”

apparently (key word) Wakefield are looking to develop BV in light of what I informed you of at the start of January. The stadium not being compliant with H&S was brought to light following a survey that was carried out by request of WTW in order to obtain (I dunno, relevant certificates or something?) necessary to develop BV further.
I know they've had a new long stand priced up and were looking at the feasibility of this being built, but it's pretty costly (I've heard between 3m and 5m)
The guy telling us this has been poo-pooed by most people he's spoken to but I've absolutely no doubt of his credibility. I know that doesn't mean much on here, but as far as Wakefield fans go he's right up there as a pure-bred and wouldn't say it without being adamant. That being said, he also doesn't WANT the move to Newmarket'"
Interesting, I've always been a supporter of the Newmarket development going around getting petitions filled out etc because I thought it was the only and best option for the best stadium for the area. If redeveloping Belle Vue is seen as the better option for Wakefield Trinity then I'm all for it. If done properly you could make a very decent stadium out of belle Vue I'm a bit of a stadium geek and have visited hundreds of football/RL stadiums in Britain and Europe and have seen some brilliant stadiums which have less building space than Belle Vue has , I'd start with flattening the west terrace and and build a steep covered terrace which will then be returned to the home terrace then move on to the east stand . Anyway whatever happens Newmarket of Belle Vue interesting times ahead but needs sorting ASAP .

| Last year I produced this indicative layout of what the LSV footprint would look like at BV. Three of the four stands would fit with just the Western Terrace which would overspill onto the neighboring houses. A thinner terracing stand would provide a solution, however the biggest thing against any sort of redevelopment of BV is access and parking.

| You could argue that parking at Newmarket could be more of a problem than Belle Vue as there would be parking restrictions around the stadium where as Belle Vue has ample street parking and City Centre Walk up. Either option has its advantages and disadvantages just a decent Stadium for Wakefield in Wakefield would be good

There's ample street parking now, but any new development will naturally include some sort of restriction like permit holders only zones as planning permission condition (if it were every to be granted).

| If staying at BV was an option the council could help with parking if they made the old power station site a car park, during the week it could be park and ride for wakefield centre.

The new City Fields development will swallow that site up. Had this been earlier in the planning it would've been great to incorporate a new stadium within the masterplan.

Agree but going on past experiance this development could be years before it comes to fruition meanwhile for not too much expence we could get a decent size car park to bide us some time.

Not a bad option. Either way I still find it difficult to believe the scenario of staying at BV. 1, the club would have to buy the ground back and 2, find £5m from somewhere to develop the East stand. For a club that is just about covering itself with respect to incomings and outgoings I have no idea where that is going to come from.

| Car parking is horrendous at Headingly.
Never any talk of a move from there.
I would even say, at present, parking at Belle Vue is less of a problem than there.I have often had to walk further distance from the car to Headingly than from a car park in Wakefield to Belle Vue.

| If Matt Ryan was flying out today sometime he'll be here sometime Friday or possibly early Saturday as it's a 26 hour flight. Can't believe Godinet hasn't got his VISA yet and he played in the World Cup only a few months ago. It'll be too late for the Salford game now...
