Think its inevitable that if Salford are willing to pay anything over 100k for Kirmond he will be sold to clear debt. Sounds like we've got fees for Tim Smith and Aiton but not Poore as desperate to get him off the wage bill but surely 80-100k saved there at least alone?

I'm hoping that we have 5/6 SL standard players on standby (Richard Moore, Matt Wildie and Mark Offerdahl)to announce their signings once Kirmond and Cockayne are eventually sold.



Remember two seasons ago Agar was making noises about a team built at last minute with little pre season? It's happening again although the opening day win against Widnes would be good. Pre season has started hasn't it?

His hands are probably tied tight as Daddy Cool must surely know that even the announcement of Wildie being signed on a 1 year contract would give some relief from all the doom and gloom and give a little hope to encourage season ticket sales.

Most except for the diehards will not pay to see a 'pub team' play next year as they must at least be competitive.

I don't want him to go but it's not the end of the world. We could walk a financial precipice and not sign other needed players just to keep him, and then he could get a season-ending injury in the first game. He is 100% commitment, and that is the quality we should be looking for in replacements, and sometimes that can be found cheaply.

Remember Richard Moore before he fell ill? Remember that Danny Kirmond was an unwanted cast-off from Huddersfield when he came to us, and we shoved him out on the wing. There are countless players who have surprised us, and there as many who have disappointed us. Let's see what February brings, not November.l

Facts: MC said he would build a team around Kirmo.....but would sell anyone if the price was right and we needed the monies and we had not hit the 3000.

Fact: Danny was at the book launch yesterday as a speaker and spoke very well . He basically said we should be grateful MC & CB have stepped in, that he was happy to sign his 3 year contract and that his proudest moment was leading his hometown club out to play that play off game at Leeds.That team spirit is good. He also said as far as he is aware he is not going anywhere.

Fact: a sponsor has sponsored him for next season - to play for Wakey


Please can we help the club by accentuating the positive as makes it easier to attract investors be they season ticket holders, sponsors or multi millionaires. I would like to know who said he was going to Salford and why its changed in the 24 hrs since I spoke to danny

Exactly right. Some people seem hellbent on turning us into the next Ratners. Almost acting as some kind of double "Agent", pursuing an agenda.

(For those under 30, Ratners was a jewellers who sold cheap jewellery. Gerard Ratner told a shareholders meeting that they sold "crap". People stopped buying. They went bust.)

135k is a saving worth having imo.

But MC told us we had nobody earning 100k.....

Contract may have been less than 100k but with add ons may have crept up over 100k.

Justin Poore said he wasn't going anywhere a couple of weeks back well.

... it amazes me how the chairman has commited to be transparent .. but some people think he should give the forum a daily update often telling us things before they have happened.

Which is my worry regarding Kirmond. He might not want to leave but he may not get much say in the matter.

Yep something I put on here previously. I think there may be a few that have similar 'deals' which we would like off the books. If correct it still makes MC's statement, whilst maybe technically correct, a very political style answer though. He should run for council!

Maybe these are the cost that are coming out of the woodwork and hampering us moving on.

Those who think we'll get anywhere near 200k for DK are living on another planet! We are cash strapped and desperate, which other clubs know, and with that in mind, any valuation of a player will be halved and then have some taken off because these clubs know that we simply arent in a position to refuse an offer.

Look at Poore's transfer to Hull KR, rumour has it we got zero for him and this is probably because Hull KR knew that we were desperate and knew that an opportunity of getting him off the pay roll was something we wouldnt knock back.

The club will be a laughing stock on the field next year and the following year we'll be in the championship and we'll also be part time.

Think we have refused a six figure sum for DK and he is one player that will hold his value more than any other. I think the figure will very well be over 100k but won't be anywhere near 200k should it happen.

When Poore said he would be back at Wake next year, probably more than a few people on here though, 'can't we get shut?'.
If the opportunity comes along to get either Poore or Kirmond off the wage bill when both are enquired about, you take Poore every day of the week.
Poore comes off the wage bill, the deficit becomes less, we get nearer to where we want to be. Danny Kirmond becomes more valuable as we are not as desperate to sell.
Rumour was when all this came out that Salford had offered 100k, two months down the line and that figure has been rumoured to have doubled.
Danny is the type of whole hearted player that can get a better class of player to sign for the club, rather than the players we would be likely to sign if he were not here.
So for me i think MC has a pretty good idea of how to make the most out of a bad situation.

This. Does it not cross everyone's minds that the guy has denied this so many times it's just not worth the bother he gets as it just keeps coming back around? Not to say things haven't changed and things are put in motion mind but I don't know what more you could want from your chairman - no one else has a chairman categorically confirming/denying rumours on an internet message board! The fact he has done at all should be enough and shouldn't become an expectation!

For what it's worth, apparently Saints had gotten "a long way down the road" to agreeing to sign kirmond but then pulled back - so I'd imagine it's got to the stage that you're willing to listen to offers - but it doesn't mean they're accepted yet.

Regarding people coming in for honest season, apparently part of the Amor deal was we (saints) would produce a list of players available to loan for you guys in the next few weeks (nov-dec) so you seem to be putting things in place to ensure you have some sort of team together

I know everyone's entitled to their opinion but the OTT reaction to a rumour and all the slurs on the current board, mostly based on supposition, guesswork and pure mischief making, is really getting me down. I'm actually beginning to think that, however poor and uncompetitive our team is next season we will have got the team that we, the fans, deserve. I've got my ST. I won't be demanding a refund. The only thing that matters to me is that we have a team and that team gives 100% for Wakefield Trinity. If they do that, I'll be satisfied. I'll also be quite happy to stand on the terrace on my own if I have to - without all the moaners who are not going or are not buying STs or demanding their money back.
Come on everybody- give your heads a shake. This is Wakefield a Trinity - not together we are definitely weaker!

Don't worry mate, you won't be on your own. There are still a few of us that have season tickets and are looking forward to the roller coaster ride yet again.

Sick to death of everyone moaning about the club being destabilised then repeating rumours and gossip that further destabilises it.
