You would have thought that if the club was in that bad a state Kirmond would not have just extended his contract.Lets face it the way Kirmonds played this season more than a handfull of clubs would snap him up and would probably bring in the most money of all the squad if sold.If things were that bad he would have been sold and the money taken.

No players have been sold and contract have been extended, can't see Timmy going as he has a young family and is well settled in Wakefield with the players, etc.

Even if he went its not the end of the world no doubt a replacement

Exactly I could of said last year before Moon went that he was Settled in at Salford and I didn't think he'd move. Fact is that Australians one day will want to go back to Australia when their careers finish, in the meantime I don't think they really care what part of the county they stay in. Yorkshire players might want to stay in Yorkshire and the same for Lancashire players who like to stay where they are because they have an affiliation to their hometowns but that won't be the same for the likes of Tim Smith or Rangi Chase as they moved thousands of miles to play here in the first place so to move a couple of hours away by car won't make a jot of difference to them.

Rangi Chase wants to stay at Cas though?
Tim Smith it settled here we often get told how tight nit the team is, maybe at others teams its not like that?

People getting worked up other nothing. Salford get linked with nearly everyone, including ridiculous targets. It's not Salford coming out and claiming these things, it's desperate media trying to fill columns, agents trying to frighten Clubs into offering new deals, and excitable fans repeating fourth-hand heresay.

Until you see something on an official site it's safe to think nothing of it.

Money does talk yes if we were struggling with finances that bad why would we have resigned Collis, Kirmond etc? They'll be on abit. I'd be alright with Smithy going if we got a good amount of money - but goodluck for you trying to find a halfback that can play off him.

Not bothered if he goes. Most over rated player I've seen at wakefield in the last 10 years. Then again I am not bothered about much at the moment as its been a totally underwhelming season. Good players underperforming for a poor coach.

I don't think anyone's at risk of popping any blood vessels; it does however illicit an irritable response from some folk, myself included, when people like the OP or Red League post deliberately provocative rumours about Salford's latest plans for world domination on our board. Most sensible folk are pleased and relieved that Salford have been lifted out of the mire, but that wears thin when certain excitable Salford fans let their enthusiasm for a brighter future spill over into braggadocio - when we have our own well documented financial woes, it feels a bit like having your nose rubbed in it, and no one enjoys that.

I was actually trying to negate some of that bad feeling with my first post about not taking it too seriously. Some Salford fans have short memories it seems and it wasn't long ago that we were feeling irate for the same reasons. Don't tar us all with the same brush!
