Yes it is (last season) and TBF he deserved what he got.
Not because of anything more than disrespecting the coaching staff on the field (he was subsequently subbed and booed by a section of the support, being at a new club, team playing poorly, high expectations - probably not reasons for booing him when combining any of those factors with the players mental health problem however ignoring coaching instruction was poor form and he kopped it.
That said I can't remember him putting a foot wrong since and it was (until you brought it up) water under the bridge

I appreciate your point and i got my wires crossed, it was the Hull game on Easter Monday that Tim Smith was getting criticism for. He is a quality player but sometimes when he doesn't fire , people are quick to point the finger.

Doubt if its relevant but a rumour i heard was that when elstone signed players before agar came he gave over generous contracts,subsequently agar is moving them on to free up money and get players in on sensible contracts,Also it was said some are hard to shift cos there contracts are too large for their return[ playing ability.

I think there is more than a grain of truth in this......Ellis, Mellars and Mariano although Southern and John were signed by Agar and probably fit the same mould of contracts too large for the return.Who's next then Wilkes?

Interesting that Wilkes should be mentioned as one who maybe released/ shown the door. Our CEO was very unprofessional towards Ollie in the hospitality stand, within earshot of regular fans. He seemed to take great delight in passing a snide comment when Ollie knocked on in the first half.

Doesn't surprise me in the least. You will always get this kind of banter/sledging amongst players and Coaching staff. However two people in particular the CEO and the Head Coach should be above it for obvious reasons.

I don't know if what you say is true (no offence) but I've heard the odd comments myself at the club through the years that were unprofessional.

What's especially stupid about this alleged dig is that Elston re-signed Wilkes and was here the first time. Any of us who have watched Ollie both times will know that grafter and decent player though he is he has a tendency to knock on, it's not new. Did Jim not notice or remember this before waving the cash!
