| Quote ="TheTiger123"do Wakefield fans not realise that the permission gave a couple of weeks ago doesn't mean anything it - yes you have got the first bit of planning permission which is a hard bit, but you still need full planning permission and the funding to get it (although I am told you have the funding). I can remember this exact moment when Cas' first planning permission got the green light, believe me there is a long way to go'"
Nobody doubts that.
The reason everyone is happy is that this stage was a possible showstopper and it has proved, with a lot of hard work from many people, that it is no longer a block to us.
Cas passed this point a long time ago but have then stopped for other reasons. We were held back at this point so took a lot of work to move on but it appears (and time will tell) that work has been progressing in all the other areas, which will speed up the later changes.
Either way, there are no diggers on Newmarket either, but we are still happy there is progress.

| Quote ="vastman"Don't you dare take that high handed attitude with me pal, not for one second. I rarely get mad on these forums these days but those comments are reprehensible.
Your belated sense of community is frankly pathetic, we at SWAG certainly need no lessons in community spirit - it's been our mantra since day one in 2004.
Where were the Cas fans when we were marching on the Town Hall, signing petitions, lobbying MP's and Councillors? Nowhere, that's where. In fact it's only now that any of you are actually conceeding it's a community stadium - something Wakey fans accepted about 8 years ago!
It's not us and certainly not me who has the childish attitude - it's your club and your fans who have had it from day one - because you thought you had it over us.
Steady SWAG were there when Ted and Peter Box virtually begged Cas to join is a joint community Stadium - you know a stadium for the community you are suddenly part of. Only for RW to laugh in their faces, what a stupid man and that's been the attitude of everyone involved with Cas since - well until now.
Right from the start SWAG wanted Cas on board, if they had of been I have no doubt we would be in a new Stadium right now. Yet in all that time not one Cas fan has ever come forward and even attempted to see what was on offer - not one!
Odd when you consider how much effort a certain Leeds fan has put into a project that he gains very little from.
As I clearly state, it isn't our Stadium and it is for community use. However any fair minded decent human being would have to accept that it was Wakefield who pushed this and made it happen - and because of this deserve to benefit most, natural justice demands it. RW has stepped down because he hasn't got the humility within him to admit how monumentally wrong he was.
Saddest thing of all is that NM is still not a certainty and it would benefit hugely from Castlefords support - but my experience is that Cas are a self serving club and will never join in the true spirit of a community stadium - there will always be an angle. In the same way you are clearly demanding equal access for all for purely self serving reasons despite no effort on your part and sod the rest. You don't even have any representation on the trust so dismissive of the project have you been All very sad.
Until Cas fans genuinly commit and see NM as the shared future for all rather than the last chance saloon in case GH fails then I fail to see what they bring to the table and why they deserve to be part of a community project they have spent 8 years trying to strangle at birth - hardly the act of a community minded club is it.
Don't lecture us on community as you are clearly out of your depth, as for chips I suggest you have the whole damn shop on your shoulder.

The fact that you've got so upset shows how big the chip on your shoulder is. All I have referred to are community facilities whereas you choose to go on and on and on about stadium, thus highlighting what it was always about for you......trinity; not the community really. So cut the bull cos I see through you. Feel free to pontificate further and bask in applause of other like minded folk.
I don't doubt that the points you've made old cock, I just don't see why they're directed at me. You talk about my "belated sense of community" like you know me; when in fact you've no idea who I am or what I do every day for "the community". So forgive me while I indulge myself and take a leaf out of your book where we're you when i was out safeguarding at risk children and taking them to a place of safety? Where we're you when I was rescheduling my life so I could get to meetings between social services, education officers, the police and NHS reps? Where we're you at 3 an 4 in the morning while I was out keeping the community as safe as I could? The list goes on and on vasty and I'll bet you're nowhere to be found on it go lecture someone else.

Wait a minute, are you saying we still haven't done any publicity shots of Andrew Glover with his hard hat on stood at the entrance to Newmarket, with a couple of borrowed diggers behind him. Spot on.
I've said earlier on this thread that I saw a letter from Richard Wright where he stated categorically that he and Castleford did not wish to be part of and a tenant in the Wakefield & District Community Stadium. He was offerred the chance and turned it down.
Newmarket will be a Community Stadium and its up to the Wakefield & District Community Trust who plays there and I'm sure Castleford will be more than welcome - they just have to make their mind up what they want to do and pretty quickly I guess. If Wakefield and Wakefield FC sign up there will not be room for many more teams to play there regularly - unless it has a pitch like Widnes.

It is such a missed opportunity for Cas in my opinion. If they were in with equal standing with Wakefield the plans could be sorted so that two teams could work independantly and the colours and design could represent both teams (3 teams to include FC too)
As it stands, if cas wait until 'their' stadium fails and then come in, they will just be a tennant of a stadium already built and designed with Wakefield in mind.
They will then look like the poor relation in 'our' stadium.
Perception wins over fact every time.

What agenda, I'm discussing the topic raised by the original poster - you (and a few more) on the other hand appear to be attempting to create an alternate universe.
I never denied my involvement was for the sake of WTRLFC or any of the other SWAG members as far as I know. The critical difference is we were always willing to share whatever we got - you as fans and as a club were not. The only bit of NM I'm interested in is the Stadium, however I am really pleased we got it within the wider framework of the community through which many more people will benefit.
What I'm not willing to accept is to see the efforts of the Trinity fans, SWAG, Ted Richardson, Andrew Glover etc whitewashed out of history to allow Castleford to condecend to join us at NM - because I can see right through you lot as well. It is a community stadium for all including Cas no one denies that, but how it got there should all go to plan is a credit to the fans of WTRLFC, the Council and Yorkcourt and nothing to do with Castleford and that has to be acknowledged at all times IMHO without compromise.
Don't get your last paragraph, bizarre.

There was a long way to go for Cas. If you'd had the things Wakey have got in place when you got your full permission, you'd be in your stadium by now. Don't assume or hope that ours will be as long as yours. Different issues behind the delay entirely. We will be starting the beginning of 2015 in the new stadium, I am very confident of that. Further, I think those in charge have estimated a later date than reality, just to accommodate the odd delay here and there.
If Newmarket doesn't come off, nothing ever will and we're doomed.
