Play offs is a must, can't hope for much more cos we still have mainly Agar's players but hopefully having Gentle here will allow more of them to fulfill their potential and we can maybe aim a little higher. Next season will be more interesting when Gentle has more of a chance to bring his own choices in.

Re: Sunday's game, i think we might cop a hiding TBH, but you never know, i hope to god Hull dont play like they did against London, that alone is enough to put me off coming never mind the price.
We'll bring a few (and they'll make some noise), but not as many as the price is a bit steep, but that's Hull's choice i suppose.

It's his first season in charge with someone else's team, if he get's the time and resources Agar had just scrapes the play offs i think it will be a disaster but Pearson will have got rid before then anyway.

I hadn't bothered reading this thread before now as I assumed it was to do with the fact that Gentle had already been sacked for poor results and they were searching for a replacement. Surely 1 win from 3 is not good enough for Hull!!

Its really difficult to try and explain how most of us feel about Richard Agar, don't think many of us wish him ill. I'll ask you this and you tell me how you would feel:-

If your club is averaging 12,000 crowds for the last 4 years and you never won a play-off game and only scraped into the play-offs twice, never beat a super league team in the cup and lost to Leeds 11 matches out of 11 and on top of this getting beaten on a regular basis by your arch enemies, how long would it be before you started moaning?

We gave Richard a fair crack of the whip (4 years), and like I said in an earlier post I think he will do a lot better for you, but for us it was'nt meant to be, so lets move on (please!) Hope to see you all on Sunday and good luck for the season.

Whatever happens, happens but i can safely say we'll never be merged/hybrid club, how about you.

We've had far worse to contend with than that and as a result have moaned probably a damned sight more, that's natural of course.
I think the bottom line with many FC fans is that they still think that they support a team that should be at the top, and that sadly is not reality.
To be a top four side, which IMO is what constitutes a big club, you have to recruit better, turn over more income (or have a big benefactor) and have more luck than one or more of the current top four, and that is a big undertaking and could take years.
IMO hull are in the middle ground, anywhere from fifth to tenth and take it from a wakey fan, that is better than what we usually look forward to, I would put us in the bottom group ninth to fourteenth.
To put all your problems at the feet of the coach and then to continue to blame him is plain wrong, it's not a new coach that's needed it's a grasp of reality.
He's had a fair crack of the whip I agree, but so had every other coach that failed to make Hull FC all conquering, however few have been denegrated so much as Agar.
Now the new man is at the helm, the new reality is to accept what you had under Agar, that to me is madness baring in mind the vilification he received, and shows many FC fans up to be little more than brainless.

Neither have we ever merged or been a hybrid can Hull say this or is Gatehull Sharks too distant a memory?

When fans come on here and offer views/opinions like you have i think most fans find it a refreshing change from those who cannot put down the poison pens they hold.

Are you 100% happy that Richard bought and chose the teams he put out, or did he have one hand up his back from the previous mob, lets face it Kear was the evil one not too long ago.

My post was tongue in cheek, but on a serious note i have seen 4 years of Agar's dross to know what i am talking about.

Really didn't want to get into this Agar discussion, but we have one of the highest turnovers in SL, only Leeds and Wigan get more, 3rd highest average crowd and now a pretty wealthy owner (in RL terms). We should be challenging for the top 4. Agar recruited pretty well in his time at Hull, his main plus as a Hull coach, unfortunately he took us backwards and offset our youth policy in his term at Hull.

His wasn't the main reason that Hull have underachieved though, that is down to our previous board.

As for the game Sunday, not confident at all.
