I never believe those people who say "I don't like to say I told you so." I think they're big fat liars - I love saying it and will do so at every opportunity, like this one:

Vasty's issue is a subject I can speak about from experience!

If you stick your head up - in whatever form - it's there to be shot at, but some of the abuse gets right under your nose from those who clearly have nothing better to and even less to offer. That does tend to be a very small number of people and they are, generally, of the type that once you turn the computer off, have no relevance to the rest of your life.

I would like to publicly thank Vastman for all of his efforts over the years - in various forms - and would like to think that he would be available to assist with SWAG if nothing else, as he has been with us every inch of the journey and has offered help in areas no-one else could or would.

In the end it matters not what people think of you (although I tend to keep much of my opinion to myself these days as not many want to hear what I say without wanting to twist it some way to me just being a Ted poodle) - what matters is what we achieve. WiSCA / SB / SWAG and now the Trust - they have all been a part of our club, have all given beyond the reasonable and all helped to keep this club here in some way or another - in fact the very future of this club still requires their existence.

In summation - I hope that Vasty is just having a really naff day - we all have them!

Vastman I don't have any particular dialogue or identify with anyone on here, I just throw in the odd comment. What is obvious to me though, is that sites like this need characters and straight talkers even if people don't agree with your comments (that's what it's all about isn't it!) So carry on contributing fella-your comments are needed to negate some of the real tripe that gets posted!

Back to Korki - I for one feel we never saw the best of him - he should have been a top prop but for some reason never stepped up to it-although I'm sure he never shirked anything!

Maybe the frustration is that some players seem to get adulation for limited ability and utter guff such as 'loyalty' and 'loving the club' (two totally irrelevant factors in weighing up why a player should get a contract) and on the other hand, some of the young players we produce make mistakes and are ripped to shreds.

I think most sensible posters on here recognise how much people like TRB, The Clan, Big Al etc contribute to this forum, and more importantly how much they have contributed to the club in its darkest hours.

Deep breath Vasty, keep contributing. I don’t always agree with you, but you are one of the better posters on this forum.

Anyway, back to Korki. A wholehearted player who gave no less than 100%, he clearly loved the club and its fans

I thank all (with the odd exception) who have put the effort in in the RW&B, be it a young 19 year old Brit or an average Aussie, it really is irrelevant, if people dont agree with that then fine, thats up to them.

Agreed - it harks back to the corner shop days for me, when ability was less important than who you knew; some fans will never move on from that.

I suggest that other than standing on the terrace at BV every fortnight you really understand very little about rugby league in this area and the grassroots game, you are right in the sense that nothing other than a playing record should be considered when dealing with a a contract offer. Other than that i suggest you know very little about players and what they bring to the game away from BV. Of course what players like Korki have brought to the game at local level does not matter because all players are born at SL level.


You stick to black and white and collecting programmes and i'll cover the grey areas.

We should have kept Korki for a year we are short on props at the moment and our salary cap supposedly spent

I agree ! Korki and morro were hero's at the start of the season. Korki not the greatest player in the world but damm he played for the badge and i would have kept judging by the prop situation for next year.
