| Quote ="Willzay"Why does the kicking reposibility fall to the 6? He has had good games though you might not recognise because you are blinded by your hatred of him (just like blaymire) - catalan away, bradford away, warrington home, hull kr home, cas away. Besides, your being very hypocritical - you have a go at the club at letting Murphy leave and saying crap like what's the point of the 1873 scheme when you want Hyde (who came through our scholarship) hung, drawn and quarted just because his kicking game has not been perfect. But I guess we could go your way and sign an slower, aged auzzie who only has a better kicking game.
'"
You seem to be going out of your way to disagree with everything he says and for me it's blinding you to some points he makes that unusually have merit. Hyde would not get anywhere near a gig at 6 at any other SL club imo and aside fom the Cas game I don't think he showed anything to give the impression this would be changing anytime soon

With that team we'd have to play a fast game, looking for the ground in the tackle and a quick play the ball, jumping out of acting half back and then going wide early. That would be a complete contrast to what we've watched last season.

So Hyde is your new victim of the season, you really need to grow up and move on.

Out of interest, can you remember how to change your signature? I don't get why you are still showing a player that left ages ago with a woman no one can remember the name of!

NGBC finds it very hard to let go of things - he becomes totally obsessed with certain players. Some he loves beyond all reason, some he hates beyond all reason. He'd be a great case study.

It's the one position really where we have lots of quality though isn't it??
Johnson - player of year last year
Mariano - a close second to Johnson for me
Southern - NRL star
Lauititi - Brilliant on his day (has ripped us apart several times)
Howarth - Looked good last year at times and will improve
Washbrook - Probably going to be Agar's first choice at Loose
Plus youngsters coming through that we want to see get game time
Whilst I liked Kirmond last time he was here, he was never spectacular or a match winner which is (hopefully) what is in front of him.

If Kirmond gets a game in front of Johnson or Mariano, the world's gone mad.

Why?
It's a squad game in which case one week one will get the nod the next week they won't. Also there is no guarantee that either Marriano or Johnson will maintain form in which case options are required.
For me they all start off equal and if M & J don't want to play second fiddle they know what they need to do. I welcome two quality players like these, I especially like Kirmond who IMO is a better player at the moment than Marriano..

I was responding to Mable's suggestion that the players being brought in represent an improvement on those that are here now; I don't believe that to be the case in the examples cited.

I see. Any way they are IMHO a huge leap forward from the players we were having to sign last year. I know we hit lucky on o few last year but I can't see us getting away with it twice.

Agreed - I thought we unearthed a couple of gems in Mariano and Johnson and both of them ran their blood to water for a lost cause; most of the other desperation signings we made were not so positive.
Kirmond, by comparison, had a very average latter 1/2 of the season, just when Shudds needed their players to dig in and turn the tide - which they failed to do.

Not sure where you have got that from, most Hudds fans seem to think he had a very good end of season. I can't really comment because I can't say I saw enough of Hudds, but what I did see he wasn't one of the weaker links.

Vasty will - we have an uneasy truce, but now that the off-season is here and there is no rugby to catch the attention, he yearns for the days when we were mortal enemies, so he can have a good old scrap.
On a similar vein, I might start doing spelling and grammar again during the off-season, just to keep me out of trouble innit.

I can and will. Kirmond is decent and has a good attitude, just like those two. Not much in them although from what I saw last year he may have the edge with ball in hand, but then again Johnson was at prop to be fair so not there to be throwing it around. Happy with all three. I disagree he isn't as good as those two he is at least on par imo

Not at all, is it so wrong not to agree with everything you say. I've always rated Kirmond, don't know much about Raliegh. Why make it personal you're heading towards the paranoia that afflicts a certain other poster - don't go there it's not worth it.
Anyway I'm backing a signing, I thought that was the kind of positive attitude you liked. Surely you're not being fickle

Exactly how I see it, I'm pleased as punch with the signings - doesn't make me disloyal to existing players which seems to be the implication. I rate all four of them which is good, I really can't see what the issue is.
